Akro product

Yep, she has a whole room upstairs called her "fun room" for all her collectibles 😊

Where I scored yesterday, she scored today with 2 vintage, intact fishing kits made in occupied Japan, 2 of those lacquered figures (paper people she calls them 😊), 3 bone china miniature dogs and a sizable amethyst horse (which I helped her with $$). Least I could do for the sake of showcase space 😁

Ok !! I finally downloaded the pics. I scored this Akro Ware last week, gave a bit over $2.00 for each piece, $45.00 for 22 pieces, a good deal for once, no chips or cracks, all in good shape. So a combo, best score and Akro product !!

Patricia (my other half 😊), told me today she is going to move her teacup sets which will free up a 6 shelf corner curio with built in lights. That will help for a little while.

All my Akroware and Slag glass thus far, mixed in with the Imperial pieces and animal agate and onyx pieces. Once I move them into the cherrywood curio I will have them separated. Haven't bought a thing online and probably won't for some time. Enjoy the thrill of the hunt way too much! Not a bad start for a couple of months of picking 😊

I noticed something on the Akro stamps, on the ribbed cups the crow is flying to the left & on all the other pieces he's flying to the right.

Ribbed Cup mark

Octagonal Bowl & every other piece

Traditionally the crow flies to the right ??

Just something I noticed !! Maybe someone knows the reason behind the change ??

I forgot I also got some Murano Glass made in Italy with some nice chunky gold lutz in it.

These little ashtrays are all stamped ITALY on the bottom & I have another yellow one identical to these four that I researched so I know they are real. I fill all this stuff with marbles to save space & it also makes for a pretty good display.

That's a very interesting point...different time frame/production runs? Hmm...

That's what I was thinking & is probably why, but the trademark was registered to Akro by patent so thy all should be the same ?? Ah well just like the backwards S in U S A on about a third of the Akro pieces I have ?? I didn't even notice it William till I seen your pics & went to take pics of mine.

Going to hunt for these items also in 2nd hand stores , if i find it here in the Netherlands it will be a very rare piece i guess that travelled far

👌love the pictures

That would be great if you found some Akroware over there. I think it would be interesting to see some of the storefronts that you visit when treasure hunting!

I know right? I usually have a good eye when it comes to trademarks on things I collect. Anchor Hocking  Fireking is a good example of constant change over the years. Some shorter runs than others. Granted on some of the Akroware the stamp definition is tough to see so I can understand how it wasn't caught initially.

Same here, I've had those cups forever & didn't even notice the more detailed crow till I seen you pics. One thing leads to another, it started out marbles, now I have arrowheads and everything else in between

Scored at this place, once again Imperial but very happy with it! Hopefully mixing Imperial with Akroware on the same thread doesn't mislead anyone! (Just in case, anyone reading this thread check out the maker marks that Chad has included for reference 😊)

Yes, I love em'....I have been to the place pictured tons of times, about once every week or two, and never spotted them. Found them in the back of the building, a vendors stall where they were "hidden" in the back of an old sliding glass door cabinet behind some Japanese pitchers. The chocolate pitcher, that was a new add too someone's inventory in the middle of the building, on a bottom shelf where the shadows kinda hid its texture unless you knelt down too look. Kinda couldn't believe I found a 2nd pitcher in such a short time after finding the first one. Both antique malls are about 20 minutes or so away from my house, one in Iowa and the other in Minnesota. The mall pictured above had a really nice Westmoreland slag piece, an eagle candy dish in different shades of purples, creams and white, but it was gone. Was at my budget last week so didn't get it 😣 Fingers crossed my gal snagged it behind my back for my b-day, she's acting kinda weird about it 😉

The large Akro bin planter is killer, Bah it's all killer !! Imperial makes a cornucopia that's almost exactly like the akro, the only difference is a little variance in the foot & the stamp on the bottom.

This ones Imperial !!  No shots of the Akro, I'll try and salvage one out of a group shot real quick

image.png.c7fe320430449b6c99d72a80f3b6352e.png

I got lucky & managed one with the sticker still in it, I just checked the bottom & it has the 1951 Imperial stamp on it, same place as the Akro stamp.

image.thumb.png.deefe4eb2f47db9d6eb41a507b0895bc.png

There are 3 Akro toothpicks & the same red Imperial in this shot, I'll take some better side by side and post them later

That was awesome too find a piece with the sticker! Which piece do you refer to as the bin planter? The green and white one or the set of white and orange ones?

This one, just what I call them, I know they have a more correct name but it escapes me ??

Guess I should call it a "double lily planter" because that is what I believe the flower to be, so the reason for the one below being called a lily vase.
