Chris Parson
I have a chance on this (and a few others) marble. The seller has had it since the 60’s. From what I have learned, it looks handmade. What do you say? (Seller took the photos)
Chris Parson
There seem to be some tiny dirt filled dents. Or might that originate from the factory?
Chad G.
Hello Chris, The dirt in the glass looks like it happened when the glass was still hot during the manufacturing process, the pontil also has some dirt trapped in it. "Yes" it is an authentic Handmade 100 %, if that dirt was embedded while the glass was yet hot it will be nearly impossible to get out, but if it doesn't bother you no bigge. I have a few with dirt in them as well. I take it from the pix the marble looks to be between 3/4ths & 1" assuming the machine made marbles beside it are around 5/8ths ?? Besides the dirt it seems to be in great shape, no hits or fractures, a "Yellow Lattacinio" a good looking mib, at least I like it !! The yellow lattice threads are very apparent in this first pic. Chris Parson
Wow! Thank you kindly @Chad G.! 😀 So, a Yellow Latticinio. Yes, from the looks of it I assume it is about that size. I got curious about you calling the left hand twist. Is that a rare thing @I'llhavethat1? Is there a price indication?
Marbleized
I'm going off topic . . . the cat that you used for your profile is beautiful. Slightly more on topic . . . the handmade marbles with the pontils remind me of the Japanese glass float that I found many decades ago in the Pacific Ocean. Fire1981
It’s not a Left Handed Twist. Look again . If the twist is a clock and it starts at 6:00 and the ribbons hit 9:00 and then Noon it’s right handed. Lefties go from 6:00 and hit 3:00 and then up at Noon. Chad G.
I see a left handed twist, here's a few normal right hand twist from the end view just like Chris's marble Right hand twist, righty tighty lefty loosey, my Fathers take on tightening & loosening bolts when I was young and stripped out the threads on several. Chris's left hand twist
I'llhavethat1
Should I maybe have used the term counterclockwise twist? The OP's marble in question has some odd features, a nice looker though. Example of counterclockwise twist below
I'llhavethat1
If you haven't purchased the lot yet, maybe you can ask the seller for better photos if that's the only marble holding you up. If you decide to pass on the lot, please PM me.

It’s an online auction so I don’t know where it will end.

The Latt core is puzzling (yes I know lots of people have been, and still making them for decades).
Fire1981
Are there any signs of initials on the pontils? It might be a contemporary boro glass marble. FWIW
Fire1981
Scrap that idea. It’s vintage

It’s vintage I agree it appears to have some age to it. but there weren't too many people making Latts between ~1920 (German) and ~1980 (Contemporary). I heard (take it with a grain of salt) there were some handmades, made in South America, after WW1 . Doesn't look Boro to me and it would be surprising if a modern maker would have spent the time to initial this example vs. scrap it. Questions in my mind: has the auction ended yet? What do the other marbles look like? Where is the seller located?
