ID for a puzzler for me

Been told from Pelt to CAC.  Doesn't look like either to me, but hope for some clarity.

I see Pelt. onyx (slag) the slight amount of feathering going on is making me lean that way.

I have a question about pelts and have attached another photo to this thread.  Most Pelts I can identify have ribbons with the outside of the band being the same color.  Here is a pic of one that sure looks Pelt but the bands have alternating red and white on the outside of the band.  Does this happen often or is this not a Pelt?

I would like to know the size of the slag that you posted.

Thanks Akroorka,  I can put that one to bed now.  The Mib is not quite round, it goes .60 to .62

Some times swirls look like slags and sometime slags look like swirls.

I would keep it as a slag and not stress out about the maker too much.

It is not a CA and if it is a Pelt-not a very good example.

My motto is when in doubt--just call it Akro and move on. Akro made quadmillions of these and they are still out there to be found.

All red slags are a great find.

Pelt’s ribbons do alternate like you said. I call it the Pelt “Flip Flop”. MK’s ribbons mirror each other at the seams. WWIF

To me, first looks like a Pelt (that may have been polished, looks a bit wonky) 2nd is a common Pelt
