That's not the same as the collector named skyblue onyx oxblood. Those 1" are akro and were often found in #300 art deco boxes as shooters. Sometimes opaque white bases and sometimes clear based like based like yours with white, blue yellow or sometimes green instead of blue. They are a tricolor onyx oxblood Agate. Not easy to find. Akro didn't make any marbles that nice after the late 30s really. They didn't make any spirals.. all Agate 'patch types' .. low quality, easy to make, no high maintenance cam driven arm to make spiral agates.. Just plain agates with a few colors everyone calls patches.

That's what I'm talking about - thanks for the insight, TJ!

Fun stuff here teajajo.

Show what you have and lets compare.

My Images are not fixed--natural for sure.

I do not use a cell phone-I use a camera for my images.

I just love this stuff.

Marble--On!!

The two one inch on the right are the same as what you posted. They tricolor onyx oxblood and were shooters in #300 boxes earlier than the 40s. Some are green yellow white and ox, some are have blue instead of green. The two on the left are also one inch but don't show the clear base glass so considered opaque white and because they have both blue and green with a tan glass color instead of yellow plus oxblood they are also tricolor onyx oxblood but specials... as in tricolor special.

The two in front are 5/8 tricolor special collector named "sky blue onyx oxblood". The clear base on both are opalescant. They can show white glass or the muddy color... white is a tough one to find in my experience as most all I've seen show the muddy glass color like the two Ric posted. I asked what size those he posted are because I have never seen any larger than 5/8 and one he posted looks quite a bit larger. As far as I know, those types are all dug. Good night 😴

1. I love the two Blues together with the off-white on translucent base 21/32"

2. Cobalt and wispy White on translucent 11/16"

3. Orange, transparent Red, White, and Green. The Green runs through the center of the marble, seam to seam.

4. Orange, transparent Red, and White 21/32"

#1 is my favorite from the group. The smoky base is nice - a little different. The colors remind me of one of my favorite Alleys. Do you think it qualifies as a Special? In other words, do you think the off-white is a separate color, or do you think that stripe is normal white slightly submerged in that smoky base?

Either way, it's a cool marble!

Thank you Ric!
I do think of the off-white as a separate color and it is mostly sitting on the surface, but I'm not sure I'd call these Specials, or Prize Names for the ones that have only Blue and White or Blue and Yellow. To be honest I can't really think of an official name for these types other than they are on a translucent base. They were a favorite of mine early on.

That smokey base almost looks like some kind of Ade base to me, but it doesn't glow. The smoky base one is top left, and the bottom middle of the group on the right, that base does glow ! Ahhh Akro, full of surprises.

I'd love to see the Alley! I have one marble that looks similar to these colors but I'm not comfortable calling it an Akro, the Blue is more transparent inky Blue rather than the Colbalt. And I'm trying to get more familiar with other marbles :) Finally.

I think the smokey base is a variant of the "Ace" base, which is how I would categorize the non-glowing base of the marbles you show (of course, I am always open to correction). The glower is a little more unusual - I am not sure I would classify it as an "Ade" base though, since it doesn't have the color I would normally associate with that.

And you are absolutely correct, the variation in Akro Corkscrews is endless!

I'll see if I can locate that Alley and we'll see just how good (or bad) my memory is. lol
