An interesting blob of glass

Just found this guy today at the same antique shop where I found the limestone marble. It was sitting in a bin of polished rocks, so at first I thought it was a dyed agate or something. But when I picked it up, I saw the lovely translucent purple. The store owner let me have it for a buck. 🙂

I wonder if it's some kind of game piece. The glass itself almost reminds me of some master or akro patches. The grayish color base glass is pretty whispy and translucent. It even glows a little reddish when held up to the sunlight.

Interesting. So could it be a piece of cullet?

Not cullet.  You can see the glass ingot shear point.  Speculation:  At that size - the ingot was too large for the rollers, spun off the too-small rollers half-cooled and finished cooling on the floor.
