YasudaCollector
Just found this guy today at the same antique shop where I found the limestone marble. It was sitting in a bin of polished rocks, so at first I thought it was a dyed agate or something. But when I picked it up, I saw the lovely translucent purple. The store owner let me have it for a buck. π I wonder if it's some kind of game piece. The glass itself almost reminds me of some master or akro patches. The grayish color base glass is pretty whispy and translucent. It even glows a little reddish when held up to the sunlight.
YasudaCollector
Oh, I forgot to list the size. It's about 1 inch long and an inch wide.
Alan
Possibly spun off the rollers and hit the floor.
YasudaCollector
Interesting. So could it be a piece of cullet?

Speculation: At that size - the ingot was too large for the rollers, spun off the too-small rollers half-cooled and finished cooling on the floor.

Anacortes Washington was once the headquarters of Vitro manufacturing marbles. This one looks like it wanted to be round imho----very cool!! A Keeper for sure!! cheese
I find these in bags at thrift stores. They are intentionally made like this (sort of a pyramid/gum drop shape), not intended to be a marble. They are for flower vases and decoration. Modern. 1 1
YasudaCollector
So probably foreign? I have some cubes of 1970s ish Chinese millefiori glass that I guess could be decorative too. Maybe some of the factories used up spare glass this way?

Ric
Interesting - I wonder how it was made. Is there only a single cut-off?
cheese
Mine all have 2 seams like a start/finish of the stream. They look just like the OP photos but different color.
