Things I always ask

They are all good points but I would qualify the last statement by saying, "unless you're trying to trade with them or sell them a marble".

My go to is, "It's your marble. You can call it what you want, grade it as you wish, and value it as you like. You just can't expect others to agree."

Agree. All good points. And that is my go to as well Ric.Ā
For now, my collection is for me and I collect what I like, some of my favorites are far, far from pristine condition. What I love to find now are marbles that look like they were made in the same batch or very near to marbles that I already own, what a treat that is.
I guess my reason for being here is to share my Akro photos for the new collectors, I get so much joy in finding the nuances in the color combinations.

I’m always here because 99% of my collection is from EBay auctions and I needed help and always will need here on the Board(s). I lucked out when Bottom Feeding was easy and scored great groups for cheap. Gotta have an eye for the Sleepers. I was referring to more of a personal taste and that doesn’t matter to anyone else but me/you. Kinda of a I don’t care but it’s mine and I like it. I wasn’t by any means meant to sound like Ā I would make up a home made ID and disregard everyone’s feed backšŸ”„

I was and am so lucky I got this in a group auction. Was hoping I had scored my first Superman. Posted it it was confirmed. Boo Yah. Then someone replied it’s not mint and isn’t worth much. So what. It has a cool pattern and it’s minešŸ”„

The bottom line is, buy and collect whatever you like for whatever reason you like it! The day marbles don't make me happy is the day I sell my collection.

The only thing that is not in the eyes of the owner is the marble's monetary value - that is entirely up to the buyer.

Personally, I like my marbles as pristine as I can find them. But I have plenty of non-mint marbles in my collection, either because I have not found a better/cleaner example or I was unwilling to pay the asking price for one.

Does that make me a snob?
