Parmcat
So, I've decided to try a different approach. Im going to try to learn one make, and then go through what I have and try to see if I can identify the types in looking for, instead of looking at every marble and getting overwhelmed. I appreciate all the help here. Are these Alleys?

The size is always important in marble ID. I know, you did great image work and were exited to post it. I have been there and done this--many times😁. The details in writing are also important. Marble--On!!

I for one appreciate your passion. @Ric was just suggesting an easier entry point. WVS are a hard thing to ID--at least for me (and many more). Welcome back anytime and be prepared to take a hit or two on your ID's (not from me though-I just suck at WVS ID) Marble--On!!

I don't want to throw a bunch of stuff against the wall and hope something sticks. I genuinely am learning here, and I owe it to this really awesome group of people The passion and excitement is genuine. I needed something, and I have found it!

There are two books that I would suggest to you--they are not cheap-but pretty new. "Alley Agate Company: marbles and pressed glass" and the latest book-"West Virginia Swirls". These will help in your venture. You are a searcher and I will leave the rest to you--just because I would want it this way too.

cheese
If you want to learn Alley, I would say you must get the WV Swirls identification book. It has Alleys sorted into the three main production locations, thousands of images of them. It's only available here: https://allaboutmarbles.com/wvswirls/ 2
