Hello, my name is Jon, and I'm new to marbles. I need help identifying the marbles in this jar, and I would like to know if its worth $55. Thank you.

I don't know the current answer to that question.

The marbles are considered "commons".  Most if not all were made by Vitro Agate in the 1960s.

But there are quite a few in the jar.  Would the value add up to $55 in today's market?  I wince a little at the cost, but it's possible I would pay it if I didn't already have quite a lot of that style of marble. 

Condition is vital.  If the marbles are dinged up, I would for sure pass.

I would not buy that jar. I'm seeing very very common MK's and Vitro's. Please save you $55 for a later marble purchase. It's a $5 jar in IMHO🔥

You could ask for another price--never be afraid to do so.

These are very colorfull marbles--just not too rare.

I would give up $30 in a minute.

Hey Jon! Welcome to the hobby! Personally I’d pass for that price. You could get a few stunners for $55. Not that there’s anything wrong with these, they’re just common as stated previously. Hope the hobby brings you lots of joy!

I am fairly new to the hobby as well, and live in an area where truly vintage marbles are not all that easy to come by. 55US seems quite steep, but if you are far from good honey holes or you just want to easily start up a decent but common collection, don't be discouraged by others. 

It depends on your financial situation, the ease at which you can get to marble shows and people in the hobby, and how much trouble you want to go to to get good marbles. 

 

That said, if you are looking to resell, HARD Pass!

I'll chime in.  I'm still very new to marbles.  This was the exact type of jar I bought at the beginning.  Now, there may not be a lot of expensive marbles in there, it got me started as to how to sort and identify the more common marbles

After you've done this a few times, you start to be able to scan a bottle and see if there are a few great marbles.

I agree, 55.00 is way too much for this one.  I'd buy this one for 30.00 no problem, and then probably buy 2 more similar jars on my way out...lol
