  1. Thanks for the explanation, Chuck. I have mine up for bid on ebay so I'm glad to know I gave it the correct nickname.
  2. Thanks for all the comments. I increased the image size on my camera to a high quality setting, then after reshooting everything, resized the photos on my Previewer. Next time I'm ready to shoot more pics, I'm going to learn how to use my husband's camera which has a much higher resolution. Good to know about Gimp. Think I'll pass on that.
  3. Sami, that's exactly what I've done. I've got to get back to the drawing board.....I think my Previewer has a way to resize. My thought was that perhaps this is ebay's way to deal with too many people trying to place listings with the free offer?
  4. I haven't sold on ebay in several years, and now they've got new strict guidelines on photo size. I spent 2 days photographing marbles I want to put up for bid and NONE of them meet their requirements! I changed the image size on my camera, going up to the very largest, and also tried resizing them using Photobucket, all to no avail. What a waste of 2 days. @!#@!$!! I wanted to use their free listing offer, which ends tomorrow. So if any of you can help, please reply quick! Thanks in advance.
  5. I know there's been discussion of this kind previously, but can't remember exactly what hobbyists call it. Window? Windshield?
  6. Check out my "ad" on the buy/sell/trade forum if you collect slags. I have a group for sale, all for one price.
  7. I'm offering a group of 15 oxblood marbles in the buy-sell-trade forum. It includes a 3/4" limeade oxblood.
  8. I often visit Belgium since my daughter lives in Brussels. I used to try to find marbles there but had no clue where to begin looking.
  9. I meant to say that others ID'd it as Alley years ago.
  10. I'm no expert but something about the pattern reminds me of this one.
  11. I have a wonderful large print tray that's great for displaying marbles, but since I started paring down my collection it's just sitting in the basement.
  12. I think I've seen cloud type vintage handmades that resemble guineas. Is this an old marble or a torched lookalike? http://www.ebay.com/itm/261596845507?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  13. The marbles were never offered for sale to the public as far as I know. I think a very select group of collectors/dealers got first dibs. It's really too bad the images are gone forever too.
  14. Check the Buy-Sell-Trade forum for a list. Contact me by PM.
  15. I have a Ruby Bee with aventurine if anyone wants to buy it from me.
  16. Love it. We used to have endless discussions and arguments over what constitutes a sparkler or a sunburst. I propose we simply call this type a sparkburst. Or a sunspark.
  17. Majolica pottery and live orchids. Well, who would collect dead ones?

  19. OK, let's keep this from getting buried.
  20. I'm trying to go through my mystery marbles for ID's from you experts. This one was bought from a person who thought it's an Akro type, maybe one of those birds. Or maybe it's just a colorful marble with stripes?
