  1. I inadvertently hit the post button and I wasn't through. I wanted to add that I come here to talk about marbles..... not religion, not politics, and not trashing others. I do admit I was pretty rough on Galen. Galen was telling falsehoods on another of our members and he could not or would not stop. If we are allowed to trash people here, do personal attacks on people, then tell us that's allowed and I'll move on. Edna
  2. I wasn't clear enough when I posted yesterday about "I would be more strict, etc.". All of my remarks were referring to the board rule that NO PERSONAL ATTACKS ARE ALLOWED. Personal attacks have been rampant and that's what I don't enjoy. Either enforce the rules or do away with them. No one should be allowed to accuse, insinuate, make up stories, etc. especially when they aren't true. If anybody wants to accuse, etc. let them do it in private. Let it be between the two parties involved, NOT ON THIS BOARD.
  3. I don't like any of the options you gave us to choose from, marblemansion. Having been a High School Principal, I want the rules followed. I would be more strict. As soon as the personal attack post is noticed by a mod, it should be made invisible and the offending party should get a warning. On the second offense, I would suspend chat board privileges to the offending party for 2 weeks. If they chose to do it a third time...... goodbye. The rules say no personal attacks are allowed. We are not children. We should all be able to follow the rules or forfeit the privilege Lou gives us to take part on the board. Edna
  4. I see a little bit of everything in there, even an opal. Edna
  5. Hey Rhonda! Be tough and make that walk as far as you can. Best wishes. Edna
  6. I need to add that mine like the pic are half and half. I mean half pumpkin, half blue.
  7. It is called an experimental. Claudia's are the same color, but i believe every "Claudia" I've seen corks. Claudia's were also experimental. All are dug. Claudia's are in the neighborhood of one inch. The little patches like the pic are small marbles and I'm not sure about this, but they may reach an inch also. Seems like I've seen large ones in the Hardy's collection, but all mine are small, 5/8, 11/16 Edna
  8. "Rumor" has it that ron thinks he can teach folks how to Id a good %age of their mibs in a very short time. More mibs you bring, the more you can learn... People coming from Arkansas, Tennessee, New York, Ontario, West Virginia, Illinois to name few... Edna
  9. At the Texas Marble Show in October, Ron Shepherd and Bill McCaleb will be present with many marbles and will be conducting classes or workshops, or sessions on West Virginia swirls. Of course we can't become experts in the short time they have to teach us, but imagine how much we can learn from these two. Come on down to Texas. Bring some WV swirls and learn to ID at least some of them. Show starts with in room on Thursday and Friday and the show on Saturday. Edna
  10. these marbles are called Vitro Peacocks and they are also called Vitro Lucky 7's even though some have only 6 colors and some have only 5.
  11. We always have the telephone. Edna
  12. ooooooooooooooh, Mike. Nice Peltiers. Thanks! Edna
  13. Since my collection is so small...... not nearly a representative example; I wouldn't put too much stock in my numbers being representative of the whole bunch..... just what i've seen. Edna I wanted to post my JABO blackeyed peas here for the benefit of the folks who haven't compared vitro and JABO, but I'm in a rush. Going to be out of reach of the computer for a day or two. I'll check back in tonight and see if anybody has posted JABO's. Edna
  14. Mandrakes, we are just the opposite. I have 6 of the blackeyed peas. Only two of them are 3/4 inch. Four of them are 11/16th inch. I find it hard to get the larger ones. The sweet peas are just the other way around. I easily find the 3/4th inch and only have one of the 11/16th inch.
  15. "The" authority on your marbles would be wvron. I'll wait for him to notice your post. He knows more than anybody I know. (He won't admit that. He's an humble person) Edna
  16. Some of those in post #62 look like they oxblood to me. Edna
  17. Yes, there's oxblood on white based marbles with blue ribbons. Check out the buttermilk that Ron Shepherd gave me. I posted it again on the thread McCaleb started. there's another one there with blue and ox, in fact there are two.
  18. No green except for the helmets.
  19. That first vitro is also a wedding cake i don't see any green.
  20. vitro buttermilk with ox No green in these 4 marbles.
  21. vitro oxblood is a different color? hmmmmmmmmmm......
  22. Another thought, Lawrence Alley made oxblood too. I guess we should post some Alley's with ox on that thread about They deserve their place too. Now, don't look if it will upset you to know. LOL Oh, I forgot. Peace, Edna
