  1. Duff and Billy and Ann, As a small town guy, I don't even use a cell except when travelling. That said, I saw a link to this new game for the phone. It looks real neat to me and if I were a cell phone guy, I promise I'd have it on my phone when I see you two next in Rono, OH. A major advantage to this game for old guys like you is that you don't have to get down on your knees to play...How would we ever get you two unright again?...lol I think it great to see anyone or anything that gets people interested in the "glassy eyed gals" we all collect. Congrat and good luck Ann.
  2. Billy, The Chef, mibcapper, slmtu, and Old Rusty, Happy Birthday! Don't let the shovel catch up with you. Many more... PS: Bill's claim this morning is that he is 50...Ric, my math is weak can you help me with his born on date?...must be nice to be young.
  3. Surrounded by her family, Gail passed away yesterday afternoon. She was the sister of Coolbreez.
  4. Lou,Happy birthday! At 50 you are now eligible to join AARP. congrats and many more.
  5. Felicia, Thank you so much! I never won a contest before. It is a thrill. You are the greatest.
  6. Look at the top left and top right pics and you'll see it. Top left the blue stripe meet the "white" and top right the blue and orange stripes go meet the blue stripe.
  7. "It is now generally conceded that Christensn Agate was not the only company to to make the style known as flames. Alley and Ravenswood also certainly produced flames" pg. 69 AMM Christensen Chapter "Recent discoveries indicate that the Alley flame patterns were very reminiscicent of those of Christensen Agate and Ravenswood." pg.39 AMM Alley Agate Chapter " 'Flame' is a marble collector's term for a striping that has finger-like points dramatically leaping out of a base color." pg 146 Ravenswood chapter
  8. This afternoon I recieved an email from Windy and she asked that I share with you. Her sister Gail is very sick appears to have few days to live. Gail has fought a brave battle with cancer. With the help of God, she has lived long enough to see her youngest daughter Amy graduate from high school a year early and now with luck will see her married on Sunday at the church where Gail was a minister. When given the terrible news the family and parishiners have scrammbed to put together a wedding many months before it had bee planned. As a present to Gail and her daughter the church where she preached is giving the wedding to Amy and Tyler...church, flowers, vocalists, photographers, a reception, etc. Please say a prayer or two for Gail, Amy, and Tyler that Gail is there to see her daughter married.
  9. Scott, This all began when I asked Brian a question. You attacked me. Then you said, “I am fully aware of the donation paperwork and the restrictions it holds.” Then you said, “The donation paperwork hold NO RESTRICTIONS! I know because I read it.” You further post, “it would be of your best interest to not call the village and to go no deeper into you allegations. "what happened is old history, I took the brunt of the paddle long ago for rebuilding the machine and making a handful of marbles on it, since then it hasn't happend again and you contacting the village and re-opening a can of worms is gonna be a mess. certainly not for you so do me a favor and mind your own business.” I await your public apology or should I proceed.
  10. To the best of my knowledge neither the Tribute Run, Last Dance Run, nor Tribute to Friendship Run used any black Aventurine. I cannot speak for the other runs.
  11. Banner is GREAT!! Congrats to Lou and all involved on a great job with the new look.
  12. Scott, I see you came and left this evening without answerng my questions, so let me answer them for you! You made "your experimentals" in 2003 which was 6 years ago.Tme flies. Memory fades... The machine was donated in working order, clean, and it was given on the condition that it never make marbles. So either you or Mr. Wheaton knowingly and willingly broke the terms of the gift to Wheaton Village. Which of you chose to make marbles in violation of the rules of the gift? In the pics in Brian's link, if you go down 12 pics on the left hand column it shows a pic of the plaque by the machine. The plaque tells of the donation and your work. It talks of your..."cleaning, grinding (sanding), polishing, and painting" In other words, you cleaned and cosmetically prepped the machine for display....a machine that was never to make marbles....and then either you or Mr. Wheaton made marbles on it. You have said you made "the first experimentals." You did NOT! The name 2008 Experimental Runs was chosen by David McCullough as the name of a body of his work. Anybody who has any sense knows that glass workers/ marble makers are almost always experimenting . I am sure you are aware of that.
  13. Scott, I am just rereading your post and it makes me curious. What were... "the donation paperwork and the restrictions it holds?"
  14. I don't understand your answer. My questions were where did the machine come from and in what year? That's all I wanted to and still want to know.
  15. Yes these exist! They are chinese and hand made...I have four different colorsof them. Sure would be nice if they were worth $1000.00 each. THEY ARE NOT! They were sold by House of Marbles and called "English Spotties" (I think.) I don't think they are sold any more.
  16. Brian, Where did Wheaton Village get a Vitro machine? What year did Wheaton Village get tha machine?
  17. Thanks Last pic...the orange and white and black and whites are the "onion skins" I think.
  18. I agree with you and sent her a PM asking for more pics...especially the one on the left...even wondered if it was possibly one of the bogard "onion skins"...any thoughts?...trying to run down some pics of the "onion skins" since the only one s I have are i n the Mountaineer package and are not easily seen.
