The left one looks mostly foreign to me, maybe an outside chance of Master. The right one looks like a way overstuffed Peltier Banana, IMO - very cool.
@treetiger Turkey heads are usually specifically associated with CAC marbles, even though you may see similar shapes on other maker's marbles. I usually refer to the more generalized shapes simply as "bird heads". Here's a fairly typical rendition of an Alley bird head . . .
but I've seen these on other maker's marbles too. They are random swirls after all. 🙂
I guess if you're talking "true black" it's probably more limited - Akro, CAC, Alley, Pelt - I may have missed another, can't remember. 🙂
True black was a pre-cullet marbles kinda thing - formula glass, as far as I recall.
@Fire1981 Since you said "Figure 8 Rainbo" in your title, you should know that the Figure Eights are not Peltiers. As far as I know, they are related to "Mushrooms". Many of them were originally found in Canada but I think they are of Asian or European origin.
The marbles are thought to be Peltier since the origin on Gropper boxes is Ottawa, IL.

The forum's search function is a wonderful thing. 🙂
Bottom line . . . in the case of the OP marble, onyx = slag and vice versa. I just didn't want the Steven to get the idea that his marble was not a slag.
I understand your thinking but it's pretty esoteric for cheap kid's toys. It's probably better to think about base glass and striping glass rather than opaque and transparent glass. Slags and transparent swirls have transparent base glass and opaque striping glass, regardless of their proportions.
And nice (recent) slag too. Does it react to UV?
They all look foreign (more Euro than Asian) to me. I don't think the right one would qualify as a "Pincer" (don't think I've heard of a "pincher"). It looks a bit more like a "sparkler" type, IMO.
