I agree they could be Cairo. I just didn't think the likelihood of finding them in the Netherlands would be very good.

    Swirls

And you may well be right.
  3. That's what I suspected. And look at how different its color looks depending on the background. It's always important to make sure that your photo actually matches the marble or attempts at ID can really be stymied.
  4. Parrots have 4 colors. These are Yellow Jackets - the front left just has a bit of extra color. The right front one is the poorest example since someone might argue it's a Black Line All Red with a very diffuse black ribbon and there is no way to prove them wrong.
  5. I agree, although I think that back left one may just be one of the early styles that has a very large and sort of diffuse eye on each pole.
  6. Thanks for checking. I don't pay too much attention to Akros but I don't think I have seen any corkscrews with moonie base glass before. Looks like it could make for a great marble though!

    Antifreeze?

Don't think the right front has a name and if any are an Antifreeze it would be the back right one. Here's one I gave away a while ago. The base glass is the key IMO.
  8. Oddball cat's eyes IMO.

IMO, maybe Alley (if not Vacor) back right. Champion back left and front right, and leaning Ravenswood or Champion front left.

    4 for ID

Master to me - maybe Akro upper left.

    Vitro?

The only one I might question is the upper right but they do look like Vitros to me.

    5/8 swirls

They all impress me as JABO or maybe Champion. The lower left is the most interesting to me, since it looks like it could be something else.
  13. Thanks for the link Steph - there are some good reference pics there. I could probably go a couple of different ways on most of these marbles. Maybe someday they will interest me enough that I will put in the effort to try and sort them out. Until then, I'll just call them like I see them and not worry to much about it. It's not like an iron-clad ID is going to change the collectible value of these types.
  14. This one looks hand-gathered to me - I'm thinking about a transitional but I'm having a tough time making out the cutoff/pontil. It seems to me that it might be from Navarre or another of those early Ohio companies.

I don't know who might have made these, Joep, but the green one doesn't impress me as American made and the other doesn't impress me as JABO - the structure looks JABOish but the seedy glass doesn't IMO, and it doesn't point to any American maker for me either.
  16. Thanks, Dave. There is an unusual brightness to the green even without UV, and the UV reaction is unusually bright too.
  17. I could see Akro but I wouldn't rule out dug - there were a few digs, and before that there were many diggers. 🙂
  18. Nice looking bunch of marbles - looks like there might be a few matches but I seriously doubt all the marbles are original to the board. I wish you good luck with the condition, though!
  19. Just don't spin 'em backwards. Nice slags, Rick. Does that third one have a cutoff/pontil on the opposite pole?
  20. Which are you thinking about, Steph - front left, maybe?
