  1. Not too unusual, it sorta goes back to the discussion we've had in the past about poor examples, average examples and exceptional examples of any particular type of marble.

    Akro slags?

I am not sure who made these, but "9s" are associated with a variety of slag makers, including Akro - usually a sign of hand-gathered production. And a few different companies made machine made slags too so the lack of a nine would not automatically mean "Akro".
  3. So a Ruby Bee then - just a weaker example compared to one that's loaded with AV.

    Trilites?

    Yes, and dandies too.
  5. I am enjoying the show, Joe, and I'm interested by the ones with such well-defined two seam structure. It would be great if you could add "with Glasfirma" after KNUCKLEDOWN in your topic header just so this thread will be easier to find in the future - I'm pretty sure you can edit it.
  6. Have you checked to see if the clear-based one (lowest left) glows?
  7. Thanks, Joe. If all of these marbles came out of that net I would consider that pretty good authentication. Are they all from the same package?
  8. Nice photos, Joe. Are these all authenticated examples from Glasfirma?
  9. It's a tough call, which is probably why it took so long to get a response. This is one I would like to have in hand to have more confidence in an ID, since I could imagine a couple of possibilities. But I will say that the cut-offs don't look particularly Pelty to me. What does it look like backlit? Does light pass through it?
  10. Unless it's 1 -3/4" and contemporary. 😉
  11. Welcome to the Marble Connection, Tami. Lots of nice Cat's Eyes in your second pic - check the green ones in bright light (sun is best) for sparkly aventurine.
  12. It's a bit out of focus and there are too many reflections on the surface to distinguish enough detail for me to offer an opinion.
  13. The definition of a muddy base has expanded a lot since I started collecting so I wouldn't be too surprised . . .
  14. I think it's an Akro and that lots of these came out of the digs. Don't let anyone convince you it's something called "chocolate oxblood".

    Kokomo?

I don't see any particular reason to call this one Kokomo.
  16. The red/brown one looks Akro to me. A question worth asking yourself before you post for ID is, "Does this photo accurately represent what the marble looks like in hand?" Colors can be important for a proper ID and your photos are all we have to go on. And FWIW, I think this one may be an Imperial too . . . straight on views of both seams are often necessary for proper ID.
  17. I'm pretty sure the green one is an Imperial (Asian) but I am okay with the second from the bottom being Master (thanks for the additional pics). And this is the red/brown I was referring to . . .
  18. The second to the last marble (3rd-6th photos up from the bottom).
  19. I agree that most are Master but I think that green one may be foreign and the red/brownish one might be Akro and i wonder about the second to last marble too. Straight on views of both seams would be helpful with IDs . . .

    UV Cullet

That creamy color reminds me of the Vitrolite glass that was used by a number of WVS manufacturers..
  21. OMG, no! And I am very sorry to hear that your granddaughter passed - that must have been very hard. Losing young people is just tragic. 😢
  22. Oh wow, you've got some talent! They're all great but these are my favorites. Some of those "tracers" are killer! Do you sign them? I thought this was an Alley - now you've got me wondering. 😉 Those are really all very nice marbles, Chris! What size are they?
  23. You know, I sure would like to see some of Chris's marbles in this thread - hint, hint @tankgrrl29!
