  1. That is a cool looking marble. My first thought is that it looks a lot like a whacky Vitro Conquerror. Is there a seam other than the one in the third pic you could show me?
  2. @MelissaAnd here's a current link to an article Lee Linne wrote in 2010 . . . https://www.fohbc.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/MarbleBeads_BE_SeptOct2010.pdf
  3. @MelissaHere's an old thread you might find interesting . . .

    Vacor/jabo

JABO made some pretty cool Classics and it's not too uncommon to find UV reactive glass in them. There is one called a JABO Ghost that looks like a pretty plain transluscent brown marble until you put a UV light on it, then all sorts of interesting colors and patterns emerge.

    Vacor/jabo

    I'd say it's a JABO Classic.
  6. Is it really red because it looks brown in the pics and is the base bright green or a paler green?
  7. 1" Wee Glo marbles ca. 1999-2000, I think . . . Of course, they fluoresce like nuts!
  8. It's CAC or Alley - need to see the base color and striping more clearly to make a call, but at the moment, I am leaning CAC.
  9. Those are really pretty, Melissa. It surprising to me how different the background color looks from one pic to the other.

    Vitro?

Not optimized for close-up shots on small objects, I'll bet.

    Vitro?

Lot's of blue tones - the background looks blue to me and it looks like there is blue on the marbles too. Try a piece of darker construction paper or something not perforated or quilted - gray is generally a good color. But I think they are newer Marble Kings, regardless.

    Vitro?

Wow! I can see them now. I'll bet a nice solid neutral matte background will allow your camera to focus on the marbles better. Right now, it's still wanting to focus on the mat you have them on - I see every bit of detail on that. 🙂 I am leaning newer MK on these but what does the base glass look like? Does light pass through it?

    Vitro?

In these latest pics, the upper right one is the Pelt and the upper left looks sorta Pelty too but it's hard to tell - the reflections of your windows sort of distort the seams and patches.

    Alley?

    They look Alley to me.
  15. Ric

    Vitro?

The left one looks like a Peltier Skunk to me, kinda hard to tell on the right one - what does the base glass look like? It might be a newer MK.

    Peltier?

Thanks for the more subdued background. They all appear to be Pelt Rainbos. But the white ribbons on the upper right one look very weak in this photo. In fact, I might need another view to be sure it is. It looks like most of your light is coming from the top of your photos, which leaves the lower sides of the marbles shaded and harder to see. You may want to get yourself between the window and marble, if you know what I mean, off to the side a bit of course, so you don't shade them with your body.
  17. . . . but . . . but . . . . but some are far less common than others, and your Conqueror bag contains marbles spanning about 25 years of production. You are apparently far better adjusted than I - that sort of hodgepodge would drive me crazy(er).
  18. That's a nice selection of Mike's marbles, Rick. I'd say you are way ahead of me. I only have two of Mike's marbles, although I do have the packaging inserts with them. Do you have the inserts too?
  19. I really like the Vitro Hybrids too. As for collectibles . . . cat's eyes with black . . . , although Bogard did make quite a few of them, other types, even Asians are not very common.
  20. It looks like you still have some sorting to do . . . there are Blackies and Black Line All Reds in your second bag and Tiger Eyes in with your Conquerors. But Conquerors and newer All Reds are probably the most common vintage marbles that Vitro produced so it's not too surprising you have loads of them. 🙂
  21. Thanks for the response on Heath's contemporary, Alan. The Jellyfish are really cool!
  22. Cool William. Is that a jelly jar for reuse as a drinking glass, perhaps?
  23. I'm feeling nostalgic today so I'll post one of Mike's (migbar) marbles. He hand-inscribed the marble no., size and date - the rest of the info is printed on the insert. And the marble photo is actually cut out of photographic paper and glued to the insert. He was great guy, very artistic, one-of-a-kind, for sure. And he made some really dandy marbles too.
  24. Cool marble, Chad - looks like a blizzard to me!
