Nice Alleys, Gladys!

Nice marbles, Dave. Great blue on the second one!

This is a nice uncommon Master, William!
-
Nice mibs, Chad. I think sometimes marbles from every manufacturer hit or got hung up on the the rolls just right and wound up with a bit of extra "spin" to them. They are random swirls, which means there are marbles on both ends of the spectrum with regards to swirly-ness, coverage, etc. At least this is my take on it.

The reason I ask is because if the base has to be opaque Confederates are rare and if it doesn't they're common, and I always thought Confederates were rare.
-
The vane looks much thinner than I would expect to see on a Banana but it might just be the photos.
-
It looks like a Ravenswood to me, Art, but it looks like the base would be on the weaker end of the spectrum for a Green Raven - sorta pinkish on my monitor. The base glass on the best ones would be a darker brown. The only other option might be a Heaton, but I don't think that's what we're looking at here.

But doesn't the base of a Confederate have to be opaque?

The only marbles in the tray that are over 1/2" are in the bottom corners.
-
I didn't know they were named either, Art. And I have not seen one bigger - but then, I don't pay alot of attention to Pelts.
-
Cool, thanks Chad, must just me. lol
-
Really, I didn't even know yellow based Rainbos existed. Are they common? I'd love to see more examples.
-
Thanks for this, Al. I didn't realize they did iridescent marbles at Parkersburg.
-
Very nice marbles, and excellent photos, as usual, Gladys!
-
The base is a little weaker color than I would normally expect, but yeah, I can see it.
-
Nice marble - getting close to a Copperhead, IMO.
-
I think this Vitro is from Anacortes, WA.
-
I'm leaning Pelt, and here's why. If you look at the ribbon on the right in the first photo, it appears that the color starts below the seam and that the ribbon just got flipped up and over to the other side of the marble.
-
Nice Brad, it's the first Rainbo like this I have seen!
-
I can see your quandry . . . that blue and yellow sure does look Akro to me but . . .?
-
The "Score!" thread. Post your exciting finds here...

It's a beautiful Akro Chocolate Oxblood as far as I can tell - the patch is just a bit unusual - what a great find! -
This marble is just a hair (and I do mean a hair) over 1/2". All I can think of is a Golden Dragon but . . . ????
