  1. A big 7/8" Maybe an Aquamilk with too much clear and not enough aqua? lol
  2. Just a pretty pair, with a little something extra.
  3. I have seen a lot of Vitros in my day but nothing like this insanity - the colors are incredible!
  4. I came here earlier today and fixed the broken links to photos I posted years ago in this topic - figured I might as well add a new one while I'm here. 🙂
  5. It does have the look. I think it might be a bit newer than a lot of the ones we see.

    Hot Wheels?

Good call, Bruce, it sure looks like one to me!
  7. It's certainly possible, Joep, but are you sure the look doesn't change simply because there is more (wider/thicker) color in the Coat than in the swirls?
  8. Joep, I think the marble just has so much surface wear that it doesn't look anything like it did in its prime, when it probably would have looked a lot more at home with its brethren.
  9. Thanks a lot, Al. They do look fairly similar. Nice bag too - seeing the "Pride" slogan in script is less usual, I think. I get the feeling it's an older bag. One of the things I have noticed, is that the older All Red style marbles seem to have smaller color patches with a lot more white showing between the patches. A lot of the newer All Reds are closer to half and half with a much thinner ribbon of white showing between the patches. Does this seem to be generally true when you look at the All Reds your collection? Thanks Again!
  10. Gladys, you hit that nail on the head with a sledge hammer! I have never gotten rid of a marble I can't identify, and there are a lot more marbles I can let go of these days.
  11. Well Kerry, now that I have actually seen the pics, they are pretty cool marbles in boxes that I have not seen before. Congratulations on the find!
  12. Okay, this is just weird. When I click the links you posted, I get nothing but broken links. When I click the ones that are quoted in the above response I see the pics fine . . . ooookaaaay . . .
  13. Wow, two likes for a post with nothing in it? Am I missing something?
  14. No pic showing for me . . . what's a Salco marble?
  15. In a drawer . . . I have been hording marbles for so long there are 1000s of them that I haven't seen in ages, which is awesome, because trying to find good marbles anywhere else around here has been impossible lately! My Father was a printer, and he always used to say, "What's the point of having a library full of books you've already read"? I feel pretty much the same way about marbles, and there are lots stashed around here that I haven't seen since the day I acquired them. 🙂
  16. Those mibs really do look nice when you get a bunch of them together like that!

    An odd one,

Thanks for the thoughts, Chad. I tend to believe that it's newer and that there are many more out there. And I am a little surprised I don't recall seeing others. If that is not the case, I would think it is a very valuable marble indeed - a prospect I find highly unlikely, possible sure, but with a likelihood akin to winning the big Powerball prize.
  18. I'd guess that many retailers got marbles in bulk or stock boxes and sold them out of bins for pennies. Gift boxes were most likely reserved for special occasions, especially in the earlier days. There were probably gumball-like dispensers in the later years too. Many were also probably given away as promotional items or incentives too.

    An odd one,

Okay, and I think I have it . . . drumroll please . . . It is . . . The super rare, HHTF, one of a kind, Transparent Blended Dragonfly Loaded with AV - the ebay listing is ready to go, $5,000 OBO. . . Nah . . . lol But I would like to figure out when it was made. I miss Duffy!
  20. Is there really any reason to believe the tiny "J.P. Co." on the box (below right of "Marbles") does not stand for Jack Pressman Co.? You may need a good magnifier to see it, but it is there. lol Here's the thing, Ron, and it is entirely obvious to me. You have already forgotten more about marbles than most people will ever know. I know this because you're the one who made the Pressman connection and pointed the J.P. Co. mark out to me many years ago. Apparently, things are working exactly as you intended. 🙂
