  1. It looks almost too well made to be foreign, maybe?

This one looks most like an Alley to me.

    Stumped

Man, Rick, you're posting some unusual marbles today. All I can say is it looks newer to me.

    I don't recognize it. What's the size?

That sort of raspberry red reminds me of the ones Ed Parsons made.
  6. I guess I could see it too. I just don't recall seeing that heavy brown color on American Agates - it threw me, for sure.
  7. Great colors, I've always liked a good brown on a marble.
  8. And a little AV . . . a newer one, I think.
  9. If only this marble could speak, it would say . . . "Look away! I'm hideous!"
  10. This is an awesome photo, William - the interior is great. I can almost hear that ribbon in the center of the marble saying, "I've got your nose!"

    CAC?

Based on the number of rows of carpet tufts the marble is covering, I'd say we're looking at a big marble, so I'm going with JABO too.
  12. I should retake pics of this mib but . . . at least the blue tint and Moonie glow show pretty well.
  13. I'm a little jealous myself. Those are delicious looking calories!
  14. Sure have missed you around here, Steph.
  15. Ha, you're not Tommy! Sorry William.
  16. It's all about the colors on this one, Tommy. And if you look carefully, you'll find two seams too.

    Opinions?

I agree with Alley. The little nub is a feature usually found on dug mibs that got "spun by the nub" so to speak. Someone would have had to been asleep at the wheel for that to pass quality control, IMO.
  18. Nice - Sistersville Alleys are some of my favorite marbles! If you haven't already, you should check out this post. You might enjoy it.
  19. Yeah, shining a UV light on marbles can be all kinds of fun, and sometimes it can even help with ID. JABO made a Classic called a JABO Ghost - dullest marble ever until you put UV on it, then it lit up in a variety of colors. But as far as marbles go, a wise collector once told me, "if you need UV light or magnification to see it, it may as well not be there". lol
