  1. Thank you. The big one is most likely from The American Marble & Toy Manufacturing Co, most would not call it a Bennington - American stoneware, perhaps. Their marbles lack the multiple eyes seen on most German Benningtons. They also used a distinctly different blue color and the finish, overall, is notably different. The pink one looks somewhat similar but I think it's probably German - a Pink Bennington. There are at least three more AM&T Co. marbles here. The top corner marbles are American earthenware - a different beast, probably made elsewhere. I am not too sure about the middle right one, although I think it might be German. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
  2. Nice ones! Some of my favorites too, especially if they're translucent.
  3. That one of Brian's is a beautiful color, and the next is legendary. These are a bit simpler. But there's still some pink on one, at least (I think the big one is 1 3/4").
  4. Ric

    Akro?

Does the base glow under UV?
  5. Really nice Vitros and a great latticinio! Staying with pink . . . Master, I think.
  6. Wow, nice caged horseshoe Jeeper. One of the coolest big ones I've seen!
  7. Love the folk art Mikey! How big are they? As another sage said, "They're great"!
  8. I calculate really close to 5/8" too, Steph, and I attribute any significant error to that little nub. I also agree, the volume of spheres is tricky to visualize. Good thing we have math, huh?
  9. I don't think Peltier - Alley or Champion, perhaps.
  10. Kind of Peltish colors but the construction . . . ? A few more shots might help.
  11. At first I thought it was colored glass . . .
  12. It does sound like you're in a better situation, Bob. Welcome to the North country. You can find peace up here. From the other edge of the lake . . .
  13. The weak white base glass (lots of clear) is not an uncommon Champion trait either.
  14. Quite likely, I think.
  15. Yup, and you can find them all if you look close. But I know you want to do the volume calculations, Steph. Come on, how big are the mibs it's made from?
  16. Sort of a Champion trait, isn't it? Check out marble #12 (second pic is best) in the Stutzman Set.
  17. I think I see what Galen sees. And I think part of the reason old Champions are tough to ID is that there just aren't a lot of good examples around.
  18. Double ingots, found in Illinois together long ago, with matching marbles I've found since. This sextuplet was in the same group and measures a near perfectly round 1 1/8" (w/o the nub ) - it's Bill's now.
