  1. It reminds me a bit of a Santa Claus But I do think they are different marbles.
  2. These are often referred to as Birds in Fire Tree marbles. They are thought to date to the 1930s. You can find the same motif in aquarium pieces or paperweights from the period. You can find a little info about them in this newsletter from the Marble Collectors Society of America. Has anyone ever seen a pontil on one of these marbles? I am pretty sure mine has been polished and I wonder if examples of these "marbles" were actually produced or if they were really ground from other objects. What do you think? Does anyone have other examples to share?
  3. Like me . . . call me anything you want, just don't call me late for dinner!
  4. Looks like a Blue Raven to me! Have you given up looking for a "B"? That has to be even harder than finding an "R"! Unless of course, you cheat (see below). lol That's a cool marble, Alan. Who made it, and did they do the whole alphabet?
  5. I certainly think it's newer but I am not used to seeing lutz in the Chinese ones so . . . ?
  6. The first one here is my favorite, but I also like the Vitro that snuck into the lineup!
  7. Wow, that is crazy - the yellow patch . . . it sort of looks like a Cat's Eye - weird in a good sort of way!
  8. That's a nice one. I like a good transparent Akro - looks like it's just beginning to boil!
  9. Couple of more JABOs from a contract run, not sure which one.
  10. The bottom right is a cool one! Nice one, Bruce - not to easy to find the gray/silver ones. Beats anything I've found lately!
