Me too, Ron - a lucky find for sure!
-
All the white in trans blue or yellow glows - the peach one too. The pink on the green-based one is really close to Alley Ladies but Lady pink and the Opal Lady base don't glow, as far as I know. The box says "Norland Manufacturing Co., 21 Brooklyn NY" on one of the end flaps. I have also seen a bagatelle game they made. So it seems it might not be a local department store?

After revisiting them, I think you are probably right.

I agree, the colors on the second one look Vitro but . . . ?

Type IV Tiger Eye, I think.

Thanks Chuck, It may be from a family owned department store in Nebraska - pretty sure the marbles are Alley.

I completely forgot I had this - haven't seen it in probably 15-20 years. It's always fun to find a nice marble, even if you already own it. 🙂 Neon Bee

Reminds me a little of a Vitro Tomato. Does light pass through it?

Nice marbles. I'm thinking Alley.

The top one is a Vitro Conqueror, the middle is a West Virginia Swirl, maybe Heaton or Cairo. The bottom one looks like a game marble of some sort. It's often hard to tell who made them, since most companies did. I do wonder if it shows an opalescent glow when backlit though.

I was gonna say, you might find them, but they're not exactly common on Vitros. 🙂

A bit like Master's attempts at machine-made onion skins . . .?

To be fair, "English Whispler" is in the title of the thread, but I have heard the name before - not sure where it comes from though. Hopefully, someone will have more to say about them.
