  1. Nice marble, Dani. The colors I see look pretty close to me. Although, I would expect to see a lighter brown color swirled into the base too. Is there any on the other side?
  2. Sweet marbles, Greg - I'm lovin' the Chrissie's in that first pic! And I got THE ORIGINAL Griff Triangle Case. Maybe not quite as purdy as some of his newer ones but it's mighty special to me . . . a keeper for sure! THANKS GRIFF!
  3. Thanks Paula, That's my take too . . . so maybe I'm not completely crazy.
  4. Wow . . . kinda cool Gregg - real-time reporting from MNN . . . The Marble News Network. I guess that sorta makes you the Anchor Man. LOL. Thanks - I'm looking forward to seeing y'all Friday afternoon.
  5. Thanks again, Rick, it's not really brown, looks a bit more like a blackish contaminant, and there's a fine streak of yellow slightly separated from the main patch there too, where the base glass shows through a bit, which adds to that appearance . . . I think. And thanks to you too, Jim. I agree that the Victory base should be bubble-free. And I had always thought Pelt made this type - I don't think I've ever seen similar attributed to Kokomo, but it wouldn't surprise me too much, and I am in Indiana so . . .?
  6. Frankly, I find the level of sexist rhetoric in this thread reprehensible . . . I mean, hey . . . Cub Scouts did arts and crafts too! LOL.
  7. Hey Rick, Oddly enough, none of mine glow. But maybe I'm biasing the result, since I have the free-form patches with real bubbly bases in with my Pelts - thinking that the base on Victories is bubble-free. Do your Victories have bubbly bases like the ones I show? Am I sorting these correctly? Thanks.
  8. Thanks Steph, I think these are all Pelt too . . . but that pic in P.A.M. has me scratching my head . . . have you seen it? I always thought similar Vitros (Victories) had a bubble-free base. And the base on the two glowers does indeed have a light green tint. I also have others that don't glow, and the base is not tinted on those. -Ric
  9. Can anyone tell me how common it is for this type to glow? Thanks.
  10. That's what I was thinking too - but need pics, for sure.
  11. For sure . . . it's amazing what a little soap and warm water will do.
  12. I can't say that I have . . . but I hope you haven't lost it - it looks like a nice one to me!
  13. Does anyone have any thoughts on the yellow patch on bubbly clear (Vitro?) shown at the top of page 174 in Popular American Marbles? I always thought this was a Peltier until I noticed that pic - now I'm wondering . . .
  14. Man, I love Vitro colors with lots of transparent glass . . .
  15. Too sweet, Craig! I especially like the yellow and teal CAs. WOW!
  16. Hey Bill . . . I'll sure let you see it - maybe even hold it - depending on my mood . . . and swimming in the river is what I was hoping to hear . . . I just hope you're not in your living room while you're doing it. Take good care, I'll be talking to you soon.
  17. Here's a neat little swirl. It's pretty cool the way the structure of the three-color ribbon is maintained as it dives down into the base and snakes around inside . . .
  18. It really is cool, Dani. I see all kinds of things on/in it with a loop - certainly some filaments that look like oxblood, but I don't really think it is - certainly an enigmatic little marble . . .
  19. Please excuse the dirty marble and poor pics. This is a tough one to photograph. In normal room light it looks like a black cork on a red/orange base. But a closer look reveals a stripe of black/green/gold and browns with three complete twists on a dark red/orange transparent base, that looks a bit like a snake when backlit. I've never seen another quite like it. Does anyone know anything about this type?
  20. coupla drizzly lookin ones in there - mmmmMMMMM. -Ric
