  1. My guess: The graphics are awesome, it's rare (not sure I've even seen another), and a few people wanted it really badly . . . a good day for the seller, for sure.
  2. You're right, Steph. All I see are Alleys from Pennsboro.
  3. I'm not that good with this kind of stuff but some of those on Ebay look like they could be reworks of the Bulgarian marbles Spara posted.
  4. That's a good idea, and it looks great!
  5. Nice! I like these types too but any other than the red ones have eluded me. Thanks for showing them!
  6. Oh yeah, a full case is awesome, regardless of the marble types. I was just curious about the mibs. It's a great find for sure.
  7. I was wondering more about the marble styles. Are they primarily the more plain types or are there some more colorful/interesting ones in there?
  8. Edna, it's good to see a BP here for comparison. Stacy, I'd say those qualify - nice. Al, yours looks MK to me - is that an "ox" patch with the pink? The blended one is cool too. And leave it to Patry - those marbles are off the hook! Thanks for showing them everyone!
  9. Thanks for showing it, Duffy. After looking through whole bunch of MKs today, I've decided pink is't so easy to find on them, Is there a particular type where it's more common, besides the "Berry Pinks"?
  10. Just a Rainbow with a big cold roll and really nice bright pink. This one is just shy of 7/8". Is the pink common on marbles other than the "Berry Pinks"? I'd like to see more examples of pink on MKs so please show them if you have them.
  11. I agree with Andrea, although at 3/4" it's a nice size and the bit of green makes it a little more interesting too.
  12. My bad, Steph. I probably shouldn't have asked for the pic, but I do appreciate you showing it. One of the things that makes me lean Master on Duffy's mib is that large patch of dark color. I've never seen similar on an orange/blue Akro. But I've seen it on several I think are Master . . . might change if I saw it in hand. And thanks for the discussion, Chuck. I always appreciate your insight.
  13. Steph, Do you have a pic with Clownfish that look similar? The ones I've seen don't look like that. But then, I surely haven't seen them all and there's always that outlier issue. And look at the orange peel on the one I posted.
  14. I have seen what I believe are Master blue on orange patches. They look different than Akros to me. In particular, the orange color. But I am no expert either. Here's one in a Collector's Weekly article that is identified as Master, either correctly or incorrectly. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/an-interview-with-antique-marble-collector-alan-basinet/
  15. I tried to PM you, Duffy. But this is what I got: "The member duffy cannot receive any new messages" Is your inbox full by chance?
  16. Hey Duffy, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That's a great example. If it's mint or close, I'd like to own it. You selling it? Did my flattery pay off? lol
  17. I think this one looks a bit more like your OP. Am I getting warmer?
  18. The colors are great on yours, Duffy. I think this may be a washed-out version.
  19. One of these days, I'm going to have to start paying more attention to Marble Kings. I've got a bunch that I haven't looked at in many moons. Someday, I'll have to post some of the more interesting ones and see what I can learn.
  20. Dang these patches, the more I look, the more I see a Comet. The colors just don't look Akro to me.
  21. I've been waffling over it for so long . . . if it's there, it's definitely in the patch. They're pretty distinctive marbles. Do folks call these anything other than P&Rs?
  22. Orange and blue is always a great combo. Is it Master?
  23. Hey Duffy, These seem sorta similar. I've been looking at 'em for years and still haven't been able to convince myself they're oxblood. What do ya' think?
