    Vitro Superiors

Yeah, I'll bet you've got hundreds of those commons . . . why don't you just send that one to me? LOL. BTW, MIGHTY FINE MARBLE!
  2. Most if not all of the marbles in your bags appear to be JABO Classics. And sometimes, you can find some nice examples in those fantasy bags.

    Vitro Superiors

Sweet Vitros, Pop! I'm liking the buttermilk too. Not sure about Superiors though . . . red ribbons surrounding a yellow patch is what's called for - I think.
  4. Cool, Charles! How many of the 5 ct boxes do you figure fit in that packaging? O.K., a little slow here - I see the label now . . . duh!
  5. Aobang Import & Export Co. in Hebei, China, sells many variations of this type - both clear and opaque.

    Vitro Superiors

Here are a few. I really like the ones with dark purple/black. A bit of Vitro's oxblood is nice too.
  7. Those 12 marbles are pretty cool. And although they aren't familiar to me, I'm not getting a CAC vibe from them either. And FWIW, I still like to refer to size by the numbering system, even though I often don't since some find it confusing. It makes more sense to me to say a marble is a No. 3, for instance, since that covers marbles from 3/4"+ (e.g., 49/64") to 13/16 (52/64"). It almost seems silly to me to refer to marbles by 1/64" or even 1/32" increments, since I'm pretty sure the producers didn't have tight enough control over their processes to ensure such exact sizing of their production. If they did, they probably wouldn't have needed equipment to sort by size in the first place. Does anyone know of a case where a size difference of less than 1/16" had a significant effect on the value of otherwise identical marbles (e.g., 37/64" vs 5/8" or 41/64" vs 11/16")?
  8. A non-Vitro horseshoe . . . Jr. now has this one.
  9. Here's one of my favorites - it's Buddy's now.
  10. Interesting . . . some headers recently sold. Same seller, even more recently. Maybe they had a gross.
  11. Happy Birthday Ron - have a great one!
  12. Congratulations to you and yours, BJ. Baby's a cutie and so is big sis.
  13. Very nice. Great oxblood pattern.
  14. Cool Steve, I'm liking that second marble in the 4th row. And is that a red Pelt slag I see in the 5th?
  15. Nice pick-ups Al. Of course, I really like the swirl, and the colors on that Opal are awesome!
  16. Thanks for the input. I'm thinking they are HTF.
  17. That really is an impressive fix. I didn't even know such a repair was possible - outstanding work I'd say.
  18. How common are Vitro Superiors with "oxblood"? I hadn't seen one before I came across this one the other day. It's Superior on one pole with a good bit of Vitro's "Ox" on the other. Sorry about the poor pics.
  19. I agree, Steph. It looks like Marblemama's uploaded some interesting ones.
  20. Here you go Miser. I didn't intend to ignore your questions. The marble is about 7/8" at the largest and out of round by about 3/32". There are lots of bubbles in a kinda cloudy green glass. I have seen some of the marbles intended for fiberglass production. This doesn't look like the ones of those that I've seen. After looking at the "pontil variations" page at the Akron marbles site, I thought it might be a hand made puree with a strange melted pontil or something, but I'm pretty much over that. lol. Here are a couple of other pics. And Dan, thanks to you for the pics too.
  21. Thanks all. Like I said, I know very little about hand made marbles. I've seen a lot of wrinkles, creases and cold spins on machine mades that sorta look like a pontil but this one seemed unusual.
  22. about pontils or hand mades. Is this one? A mist maybe?
  23. I think Steph's got it. Those big fluorescent pink marbles were made by Jabo in the mid 1990s. -Ric
