Galen looked like he was getting up for an after dinner reliever. Sami just looks like was full and wondering how much pant loosening he was going to have to do. In the pic of the guys on the floor I know one who is a groaner.

Some look like master as well. Thanks for the info Ron.

When they show the amount at the end that is the total estimate for that storage buy. That 4300 is including Bob's estimate of 3700. The balance was the estimate for the remaining part of the bin.

Zip codes started July 1, 1963. Twenty Years Before ZIP Codes: 1943: The United States Post Office Department divides cities into zones. This was a precursor to the Zoning Improvement Plan Codes, or ZIP Codes. In some if not all areas, the zones wound up as the last two digits of the new ZIP codes.

I believe before WW2 the mark would just say "Japan". After WW2-1952 would say "made in occupied japan". After that would be "made in japan" As you said subject to edit.

I am not so sure. Might be a local or someone actual connected to Morphy's. Who knows? The grading is straight from Morphy's. On the 3 Akro boxes they made some money. On the cyclone they lost a little bit. A few years back here Bonham's and Butterfields did an auction from a friend that passed away. Some lots didnt get bids. I asked after the auction what was going to happen with them. They said they would put them in the next auction. They didnt. But a few months after the auction one of the workers was seen at the Portland antiques show with one of those lots.

You can show a pic of a non CAC turkey without getting called on the carpet. Just as long as you know , CAC is more known for turkeys. I do have and/or seen turkeys on peltier, champion and european flames. -
This cyclone was in last Morphy's last april. Lot 1961.

Definition of fraud: In the United States, common law recognizes nine elements constituting fraud:[9][10] a representation of an existing fact; its materiality; its falsity; the speaker's knowledge of its falsity; the speaker's intent that it shall be acted upon by the plaintiff; the plaintiff's ignorance of its falsity; the plaintiff's reliance on the truth of the representation; the plaintiff's right to rely upon it; and consequent damages suffered by the plaintiff Misdemanor to Felony: In the cases where purposeful damage has been done to property, or where property is stolen, the charge of misdemeanor or felony may be decided based on the dollar amount of damage or missing property. For example, in Arizona, if one incurs purposeful damage that costs under $250 US dollars (USD), he or she is charged with a misdemeanor. If however, the damage is between $250 - $2000 USD, the charge is generally a class 6 felony. Higher amounts of damage may up the class of the felony and result in more time in a penitentiary. Each state is different. Again the problem we have is that the law force doesnt take marbles seriosly. So, the dont want to pursue it. Good for crook. Bad for customer. -
Nice! Can I rent your cat?

As discussed in a different thread it would be fraud. The kicker though would be on how much they would go for all filled and sold as original. The crime can go from a misdemeaner to a felony. The comics boxes had to be marked be of trademark and copy write infringement. They settled to mark them or destroy the whole batch. Those boxes by themselves can go $50 and up. Wonder why these were not because of same infringement? And I am glad to live in the USA as well. Side note: the coin collecting hobby is getting destroyed by Chinese fakes. No law in China that they cant make them. The coin magazines have done tests where they would take some to shows to see how good they passed. More than half the dealers failed. A few years ago Galen gave me an 1893 CC Morgan dollar in a graded ANACS holder for xmas. Normally it would have been worth THOUSANDS! The chinese faked both the coin AND the holder. It's only worth the silver amount they used. It was a good fake because they made it out of silver. Yes, Galen knew it was fake and told me it was fake. -

They should been marked like the comic boxes. Too bad because they are way too close to the original. -
It amounts to a crime. FRAUD. Not disclosing that fact. In the eyes of the law ignorance isnt an exscuse. It's the same on anything you sell of no full disclosure. Doesnt matter where down the line you fall in ownership. At shows I usually have done a couple experiments. This last get together we had I had a couple oxbloods I had 2 people look at for me. They both told me they might be Akro. But they couldnt figure out why the cut was different. I then told them the reason why was that is was Akro cullet melted in a furnace. Then hand gathered and rounded on a Vitro machine. The wierd cut was caused by glass scissors as there wasnt any regular shears. Edna was there I think for both years the Vitro machine was ran at Wheaton Village for a very small run. About 50 each year. Scott Meyer did 20 or less of the oxbloods. They werent made to deceive but so that people could see a machine in action. The unfortunate part is that our hobby isnt taken seriously when it comes to the fact on fraud. Until harsher penalties are handed down then it will continue as the crooks see it as a way to make a fast buck.

Looks like you have a great friend Steph. It's always nice to see the original of something.

Bocci, Bob was right. My choice of bad words. I meant it towards a way that there is almost no info out there to identify the different runs. Except your board. Which is a good thing. The sad part is that if there wasnt a Jabo-Land board the new collector would find it an almost insurmountable odds of achieving their goalsto identify each of the runs. Cathy (sorry not sure if with a C or K) , all of the Sammys Mountain Marbles has been with Dave at the helm.
-
I think that too Scott. She was flirting with him with the "knight in shining armor".

To me restoration is good and it gives people a chance to get some they couldnt afford otherwise. Where I draw the line is people who sell them knowing that they have been reworked and NOT DISCLOSING that fact.
-
I really pity the future collectors. They will think they have something rare when it isnt. Since 2008 when these type runs started how many "investor" marbles are out there? Say 4 million. How long do you think they will appreciate? Virtually all was made for the collector market. How many are sitting in basements? Who else besides Edna doesnt sell any? She gives them away. Edna, I give you kudos for the sheer pleasure. Is there anyone else? Getting info on all the different runs to tell apart? Forget it. Make Bocci board go away and they got zilch info. There are very few people who could tell you which run they came from. They now look too much alike. After more than 50 runs since 2008. That's a lot!

Watching and sorta remembering that I have seen quite a bit of this type showing uo on ebay in last few months.
-
I believe the machine they are using is 5/8". Although you may get some as big as 11/16" Mike search ebay in marbles 1970 to now. You will find a wide assortment of the runs.

First row first. Fourth row 5th. Last row 2nd. I saw those that Galen is talking about. I thought they were CACS. Too close in color and design.
