What Do You Think About This Lot?
clydetul62 replied to Stefan's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Euro machine are very hard to price. There isn't any definitive answer and no guide to go by. It's what ever you feel is right for you. Paul, I have the cousin to your's in the second pic. Mine though is white and baby blue. Sadly, not mint. -
Illhavethat1 the marble is actually a multi swirl with extra color. There are multi swirl where they hardly didn't or didn't twist at all. It was probably done during a change in runs that caused the extra colors.

Manylittle I cant answer your whole sale ebay question as don't sell on ebay. But I can answer in part about the pelt blue galaxy. They are very flashy and will stand out in a group. You will find probably as much as 10X more golden rebels than blue galaxies. BUT the biggest hurdle to find is finding one in decent shape. Usually they are beat to hell. As to how many peltier made may be open for debate. It's DEFINETLY not peltier's rarest. That can alsol be open for debate. Here in this thread go to post #17 I did a synopsis of the 2 types pelt made with pics. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/18437-peltier-group-aventurine-galaxy/

I'm not Dave. But it has 2 names. A blue surfer or blue lagoon. Take your pick.

John, hit me up before you see Craig. Nothing may be left for Ron if he comes on Thurs.

Carry on as well. Galen is correct on value. Plus can be damaged. I once saw a full rifle case of contemps destroyed. Also request private screening. This way you don't announce what you have. I have found also with private screening they are more careful of your belongings.

Plane gets in at 10 tues night.

Not quite right pic for me. Please change the marbles around it and take another pic. I showed this to a strictly lurker. He thought champion or alley.

Craig, you may have still have something trade able for CAC. AND its not a pelt. I will have a wide range of some mid levels and a dollar bin.

A Little Pelt Help Please....
clydetul62 replied to MarbleDawg86's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Sorry, not many rainbo's have names. That one does not. Same goes for the PPP. Mainly because the PPP have a NLR version. Dawg has a spiderman version and a girl scout version in the PPP. The last one is a variant of the spiderman. Hope this helps. -
Excellent. Busy, busy.
-
One of my favorites. I like green. There are 3 different types/variations of the green rebel.
-
Very nice busy pattern.
-
Very nice. It took me a long time to acquire my first super. For some reason it wasn't on my bucket list. That and a GR.
-
Very nice Chad. Excellent pattern. I had a hard time letting that one go.

If a bid is retracted its up to the auctioneer to keep of who is high bid. The helpers also is their job to keep track. Unfortunately, the only way of them going back is right then or immediately when hammer falls and its caught at that time. Once they go to next lot it usually is done deal. It will now be interesting to see what starts popping up on ebay from that auction. Especially, if the seller is from Denver PA.

Same Marbles Different Story...
clydetul62 replied to William Marbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
The only correct part of the auction is the word "new". -
The Cotes was crazy price. Patch is black with just bluing at edges. No AV. Has 2 blow outs and a couple ticks. Good transfer though. I would put a 1200-1500 est on it. A couple years ago that IL. collector was able to buy a Cotes with a blue patch with very heavy AV and only a couple ticks. It was the best I have ever seen. He got it here from a Cali collector. I and another Cali person turned it down because comics is one part I don't usually touch. I kick myself now but happy it has a great home.

I look at the estimate to get a lol but I don't care. I just bid for amount I want. Same as if was ebay. Actually, some of the negativity helps bring down some prices for some items. For which I am grateful. For those that didn't bid higher on lot 53 and 171 I want to express my gratitude. Thank you.

Ausman, I can answer your queary for your first question. I had the same happen to me back in April auction. Although someone did outbid me. Thankfully. What I figured out is that at least for online bidders, (cant say for floor bidders) is that the initial price you see on your screen in what the item's opening bid is when they first post the catalog online as if it had no bids. Their program when the item opens to intenet bidders doesnt take into account of bids already on it from people who have done absentee bidding. eg. If a lot had an initial $10 opening at time of initial posting but there was already a $50 opening absentee bid you will see for a couple seconds the $10 bid Not the $50 bid that is actually there. So, if you're quick and hit the 10 it will actually take a $55 bid because it hadnt updated quick enough to show the $50. In essence by being to quick you screw yourself. Why their system doesnt begin with opening what prebid is already on it I dont know. That's why each lot for a second starts real low. Even though in actuallity it has a higher bids already on it. I have watched it happen on EVERY single lot when it opens. That's why I wait a couple seconds for it to catch up to show the absentee bids. It's a big big problem with their software and can cause bidders (same as in your case) to bid more than they intended.

Incredible Nice Gutta Percha Marble!

A few years ago a number of these came out of New Zealand. For some reason as well all the bigger ones have this type of pattern. Unlike the flame type pattern of the smaller ones.
