  1. Hard to give value as I see some damaged ones. Unfortunately the ones that are worth the most are damaged.
  2. I like it that for protection the person whittled out a section for a knife.
  3. I don't usually take current pics as the ebay ones were very good. It's plated. Probably nickel. I'm not up on my metals. It's definitely not over plaster. It's also coming off in many places and is pitted. I think it was a top part of a trophy as the bottom 2 spots are probably where the gold color part of a trophy.
  4. It's definitely not filled with plaster. Way too heavy. Weighs about 1 pound. It's only just shy of 2" I think its pewter. When I bid on it my first guess was from a trophy as well. It very well could be. Either way its a way cool piece.
  5. Here is mine. Lots of detail. Not sure if it was originally was used in conjuctional with something else.
  6. Hansel, I wouldn't have been able to answer your query on how I identify as I think I only have one CAC to go by. They were never really my faves so I didn't collect them. In my milkie box they all have a ton of bubbles, orange backlit. All but 2 have the wood grain pattern. The 2 have little to none wispy but still backlit orange. Some looks like you can see the cut. As Sami pointed out the translucent Masters that came in the worlds fair box. I checked those. They have a ton of bubbles, has the wood grain pattern, doesn't backlit orange and no eye. In Canton there were 2 cerise boxes on display. One had more reddish mibs closer to a cardinal. The other had mibs more on the orange hue side. See what happens when stay home and play in the snow in PA. You could have compared the 2.
  7. Very nice pic Mike. Even with pic its going to be hard to tell difference between early non feathered and akro and cac. On April 12 when we have our local get together I will have early pelt non feathered, feathered, primas, milkies and cerise, and akro cardinals to any who want to study them. This way you can see the difference in hand.
  8. When did Gropper start and stop using the Ottawa address?
  9. Some time back there was this pic posted of a factory in france Looks late 1800's as they are cabinet cards. Unfortunately there were no pics of the inside nor outside with marbles in the pic. Clays were the most common made when they were made due to compare costs with glass. Sorry I couldn't put a date on the. Size would determine factor in worth.
  10. Hansel, I think the akro sticker was put there by the same person who polluted the box. Only because its got sizes and price per carton. Why and who do you think put the typed label on the box? What is handwritten on that label? For me the difference between a cerise and a cardinal is that the cerise has more orange to it. The cardinal red is a darker shade. Put side by side of my cerise and cardinal box there is a clear difference.
  11. No jacking. I put up pics to put to discussion to compare the two boxes. Not sure why the sticker because I believe both milkies and primas were not massed produced. How many milkies and primas boxes have you seen or know about? The milkes look like moonies to most people and primas look like cac American agates. Cerise agates are a different story. I found cerise agates unknowingly in the wild before I knew they were cerise. Was the onyx on the sticker pre feathered? I think so. How many can tell from cac? I think the box is early but can easily be used as an argument for possible both cac and/or pelt with just a sticker. A la yours. As to why its got akro, I don't know. As we have seen boxes can contain anything when we buy it. Take those out and put in master, mk, vitro, hell even jabo and with out documentation 80-100 yrs from now they will be having the same discussion.
  12. What happened to this one? Also, its missing a #5 box that fits on the left side.
  13. A blizzard to me is just as it implies to a snow storm. Very packed with mica that you can hardly see inside. The marble in the thread onionskin is a blizzard. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/19254-onionskin/ I have a pale blue where the mica is very fine and tightly packed.
  14. He's in trouble because he knows where 2000 that he wants to buy. His bank account is gonna suffer.
  15. Is this watch yours, Chad? Can you take a pic of the movement?
  16. Colors in pics are a little dark. Making the colors look a little off. Definetly a blue salt glaze and a very nice example. Put side by side with a blue bennie and they look night and day.
  17. Little, your phone number that you give is a number too short. It wont work.
  18. No offense taken Winnie. Definitely not Bulgarian. Here are the rest of the pics for that transitional.
  19. A set of MFC slags and a transitional
  20. Hansel, I saw that auction for longest time. Never could figure what he was holding. Whether its a marble or a ball. Its reason I never bid.
  21. These all came from one source. Back in good ebay days this lady put 2 of them up. I won. She put 2 more. I won again. I asked her then if she had more. 2 more for total of 6. I love the one that has the spots. That one and the one straight under it has a blue color as well. It's caused by a single blue thread deep near center of marble. Size is 1 1/4" Asked back story on these. She said they came from a board game table that had 2 sticks and a couple big clays. Similar to pool? The game had a drawer and these were in it. She didn't have no pics of the game. She sold it as she was unloading it from her truck to put in store. A guy saw her unloading and bought it off her on the spot. There is a sad part and that she acquired these from a neighbor's estate who had been killed. Anyone know what game looked like?
