  1. Here's more photos of the cac alley pelt superman.
  2. I did initially think superman colors but I saw the patterns and flames and just assumed CAC. Sounds like I need to post it in the ID forum,
  3. In Montana there are seemingly more grizzlies than mibs in the wild so imagine my surprise when I opened the drawer in an antique store and found the NLR in mint condition and the NM CAC in the same $7 bag! Grabbed the handmade for $8 just because. I thought I'd take a picture of me holding these and post it in the hunting trophy cork board at the local sporting goods store.
  4. Agreed. CAC Guinea Exotic Sandlayered Sundae, but I am not a marble expert so please see photos for condition and bid accordingly.
  5. It appears that right now 42% of toy marble listings contain jabo in the title.
  6. No glow on it at all.
  7. That is just an optional listing detail a seller can choose to add (and as you can see only ~1200 listings out of ~20k used it). Still no date subcategories exist under Toy and Hobbies > Marbles, which means when people list them, they aren't offered those listing subcategories like they were before. eBay's primary goal is $. They also watch metrics like traffic. No doubt since removing the subcategories they are getting increased traffic as we desperately surf and squint through the mess of grouped listings. This means somebody at eBay got a bonus at our expense, but how it affects sales may determine ultimately whether we get those categories back.
  8. Yeah, can you imagine seeing three Master Marble sunbursts with fly eyes?
  9. This fly chose to die between three Master Marble sunbursts.
  10. Fun! Enjoyed the whole thing including the music. Just wish they showed more of their collection.
  11. I was thinking the same thing. I have a smaller Carnelian and the brown is an exact match, so maybe the base glass on the bigger ones just got a bit wilder as often happens with the bigger ones.
  12. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for a NM 5/8" oxblood but you can bet somebody is bidding $20 each for the marbles alone.

    Akro?

This marble is 15/16" and I assume it is Akro but what makes it very odd is the feel of the glass. It has a more "mineral" feel to it. Notice also the wispy white gray base glass. Maybe it was kept underwater for a long time?
  14. Hoping to see some crazy Vitros too.
  15. Steph: Yes, I have shot with the rougher ones. There's nothing better than an aggie shooter. I also often carry a "lucky" agate in my pocket when I go out, and take it out and rub it for good luck or just to turn it in the sun and remind myself of the small things that make me happy. Here are some of my "wild" WV swirls, ones I've found in the wild and kept. At least I think they're all WV swirls. I don't otherwise collect them but sometimes they can be gorgeous.
  16. I went to the cherry festival today (for reals) and found a big jar of marbles that the antique store owner let me cherry pick for $0.50 each. There were several very neat Vitros with almost all clear glass and deep red patches, and a couple of fancy(?) conquerors that I can't seem to photograph well. The peewee blue-based handmade has a big chip but beggars can't be choosers. Then some foxy oxy Alleys.
  17. Some of my favorite agates, aggies, realers, carnelians, etc. While I cannot live without my glassies, these are still my favorite marble to have and to hold.
  18. Yes! I might try a reduced version of that and just go out a few days. Would be lovely to wake up in the middle of it and watch the sunrise.
  19. Went to Glacier Park earlier this month. I've been to Yosemite and Sequoia several times but Glacier dropped my jaw further in terms of sheer majestic beauty. More pics here: http://imgur.com/AN7WEML http://imgur.com/0maYk3g http://imgur.com/1aOSdeN http://imgur.com/vqdEaoj http://imgur.com/58vRuOy http://imgur.com/quOq9pk http://imgur.com/jQHHt1Z
  20. Are those "Nosco" cracker jack guys? I have several of the flat animal ones that have a sort of Art Deco look to them. Here are what in the early 70s we called "little rubber animals". They are 1/2" and there were about 100 different ones. They were sold for $0.05 or $0.10 each from clear bins. I later learned they were made by Schleich which still makes plastic animal figures today.
  21. Stunned. A few years ago I sold 25-lb lots of vintage marbles like these and got about $30 per lot. I guess my mistake was not including Vacors that look like Pelts. Edit: And I even offered returns. I wonder if we'll see an ID request from the winner in a couple of weeks?
  22. Thanks, Al! I'm happy with my purchase and feel OK about leaving the rest behind for another collector to discover out there.
  23. No, they are Peltier and named "Cat's Eye Champion" but it can be confusing.
