  1. No snakes in this thread grrrrrrrrr! I do see some pretty hard to find Akro Spirals though. Red is near the top of the hard to find list of standard colors so I would put transparent ones above that. It's neat the way they look like nothing special until you look at them at the right angle.

    Id help

How about a Japanese Crease Pontil Transitional with "Oxblood".
  3. Ahhh the pre -internet days! Thanks Steph you have made me feel old lol. All praise the internet! Oh and the Akro Salesmen Box. My personal Rosetta Stone for Akro marbles because the names are written right there in the box.
  4. Yep all the same marble in the first group of pics. The lot was a mix of single seam and double seam marbles. They were nowhere near the 3cm stated by the seller and are actually all around just over 7/8" to a hair under 15/16". All look to have a clear transparent base glass hence the depth they show. Very hard to capture in a pic with this near obsolete camera. Better pics of the group
  5. Thanks guys. Is just over 3/4" a good size for Christensen?
  6. German Striped Translucent? You can see into the middle.
  7. Nice Euro Flame there. Some days they just seemed to nail these type.
  8. Sorted out the swirls. Are these all Christensen?
  9. Seller said these were 3cm. Expecting just over an inch though. Nice group of German Striped Opaques, and one that forms a 9 I have read/heard sometimes happens.
  10. I have one that I would guarantee 95% was a Spotted Dick that is 1 3/16" Alas it has no spots so it is just a white ball How big is yours? You can email me your pic and I will post it for you since all seems to work for me. The biggest ones I have with spots are dead on 1"
  11. This one came in with the green and yellow one and the blue and yellow one. Very thinly veneered though. Has anyone else seen this blue on anything besides a Canadian transitional? Can't take pics of my Canadian stuff since I am in the U.K still.
  12. Mushroom marbles can be found in the U.K as well. Very uncommon though as the group shown is all I have ever found + 9 not pictured doubles. I would never have known what the purple and yellow one that is all messed up was, but lucky it was in the same little group as the other one. Are they related to the Canadian Transitionals??? Can't say yes or no. They do however share a very close colour pallet.
  13. Hey Hansel. Well those are cool as hell and look pretty close construction wise. However there looks to be a difference in materials? and glaze? are yours glazed? This one has never seen any glaze. Looking into a divot beside the brown spot real close looks to be the same material as used to make the brown Spotted Dicks. Quite grainy and coarse. The white is a little less coarse. Pretty sure you have 50xed one of yours so you feel what I am trying to get across. Yours look to be real fine grit? and for lack of a better term purposeful and made with intent. Mine strikes me as something that might have come off the bottom of the bucket and someone made it round? Guess mentioning the size might help as well it is at the biggest 31/32" to a hair under that generally. Pretty weird marble.
  14. Purchased a group of all non glass marbles. There were Spotted Dicks, stone, clay and other non glass in the grouping. All were as dirty as a marbles could get and I almost tossed this one in the junker bottle. However there was a bit of a pattern showing so I got out the good old Mr Clean Magic Eraser and went diligently about cleaning this one up. Glad I did, but what the heck is it? I'm calling it my Bird Marble for now. You can all see the bird head right? Maybe two birds if you count the white spot that looks like a demented turkey in the sixth pic.
  15. New find. Not German but still pretty cool. Just over 7/8"
  16. Thank you. That's what I was trying to get across to those who looked at it. I was outvoted 5 to 1 though. They only see pink? I will say that in a brighter light it really can be said it does look pink. The contrast off the darker lavender ribbon can also throw you off as well. Still one nice old marble.
