  1. Yes! Migbar! That was exactly my reasoning. Key words, "more than 75%"
  2. Are they marbles mixed up, or layered? Are they all the same size? Are the girls blind folded? Do they "select" marbles, as the question states, or get random handfulls? Because maybe Pamela only likes green.... are they playing for "keepsies"? Grade school flash-back! This is how I failed math. I obfiscate by focusing on the test writer's wording, and ignore the actual question. But this time, to show that I have matured a tiny bit, if it is a random grab, I go with Pamela. Anyone else having grade school flash-backs? MarbleBuddy
  3. I am amazed that you folks up there didn't experience "marblegedden" last night! So glad! It was a good reminder for earthquake zone people with glass display cases to always keep a pair of shoes at the bed side. I haven't experienced anything more than 3.1 down here in Santa Barbara.
  4. Thanks for the "heads-up". Please do let us know! (Even though I am supposed to be selling more than buying!)
  5. Have added you to my ebay favorites list! I NEEEED more German swirls and sparklers!!!
  6. My name is Ruth, and I lean toward machine made. Here is a picture of my new favorite find; a Ravenswood found in a bowl of fifty cent marbles in Connecticut, where I was visiting my parents recently. It is just 17/16" In the Archives there is a great set of photos with commentary from Alan about Ravenswoods, that includes marbles like this, but this example trumps those. I love it.
  7. Re: Golden sting ray migration: Wow. Who knew?? I would like to see that!
  8. I hope someone has a resource for you...or for us!
  9. ...no doubt about it, you got a deal! Happy you!
  10. Marboman, Very good looking marbles!
  11. Are all of these Ravenswood, do you think? Or only one or two of them?
  12. The back right corner, red, yellow on transparent base...I like it!!
  13. I too, have "found marbles" on occasion...but never like those!!!! Jealous. A little bit.
  14. The photo definitely looks like a golden brown, red, white and blue and black marble. Is it really only red and white?
  15. Hey Rich! I still have that marble you made displayed all fancy like!
  16. Hi Steph, you were here years ago! Glad you are still around! can you move my post to the correct place? Or is it ok here?
  17. After 4 years away from any marble forums, I am glad to see you are all still here! It took me half an hour of guessing to figure out what my old password was! I am looking forward to checking out your photos and discussions. This forum was always helpful and encouraging. MyMarbleBuddy" Darn! Should have posted this in the "introduce yourself" part.
  18. It seems to me that buyers pay significantly more if the are confident they are getting hand ground, faceted, agates. That is difficult for a new seller on e-bay with no history or reputation. From what I have seen, some of them, especially the blue dyed ones, do fetch a much better price than modern "mineral spheres". It seems to me like you have several options: selling on ebay your self; consigning them with someone who sells on ebay, such as MarbleAlan (It appears to me that generally people trust his assessment of marbles and therefore pay higher prices); or, you can go to a marble show, and talk to a lot of people, and see if you can get a buyer there. I hope that helps. It can be a bit frustrating knowing you have something other people want and will pay for, but not knowing how to connect. Ruth
  19. Nice, Rich. First picture, back row, larger marble with light blue, yellow, and ...lavender? I like it. What did you melt down to get that? Ruth
