  1. Nice Mib. Not going to ponder on polished this or dug that, but I will say it is quite possible to find a nice marble like that in the wild. A few years back, a relative (from Canada as well) was kind enough to give me a couple Corks that used to belong to her Mom. I assure you, neither of them would have any interest to add or take away anything to that jar for at least the last 30 years. Yes, it's possible there were diggers back then too, and some of you might still be here!
  2. Group shot of some smaller favorites. So hard to choose, I love them all. The old handmade marbles are refreshing. :Cool_653: Sue, that real small one looks like a nice 3-layer peewee I've only seen a couple of those before.
  3. Big "Bruisers" 1.5~2.5" Hard to choose favorites. Some real nice ones posted so far. Might take some off the shelf for a "group shot" later. Or maybe if I dumped them in a tub like Brad it would make it easier
  4. looks kinda like a Red Rooster to me. Pretty cool. Nice drawing too Mary. My artistic talent is pretty limited but I have appreciation for it.
  5. Passionate & dramatic times for those that collect marbles. Imagine the outcry back in...well over 100 years ago when suddenly a German marble hut started doing something different. Grrr.. Marbles are art, art is subjective as it gets. Agree or disagree there's no wrong or right. Just popcorn and marbles baby
  6. A big and small 3 color catseyes Approx 1-3/8" and 3/8"
  7. 1-3/8" is the biggest on-hand to measure, but 3 color type instead of single color.. The largest single color machinemade like that I've seen is closer to 2", and will soon have a better view of things on top of my flag pole.
  8. ...with a Grain of salt? Seasoning? Anybody? Hello is this thing on.
  9. "Most of the seasoned collectors who voted specifically did vote for the right hand side and I'llhavethat1 voted for even darker" Wow, I'm mentioned separately from "seasoned collectors". Lol, Take it with a grain of salt folks
  10. Monitor settings do play a huge part when it comes to interpret colors over a computer. Could be flash setting too The first picture in the first post looks almost brown & tan on my screen. Maybe a washed out pistachio? But there's always going to be different shades of blue, different shades of orange and different shades of pistachio...
  11. Even if there were 300 of those from ~68 years ago, makes a pretty slim chance at seeing too many other's. Pretty exciting find!
  12. Ho Ho Ho! Bottom one has a signature but I can't make it out. ____+93? J_ something?
  13. Must have been a blast digging those ones out, lovin' the handmades!
  14. The first looks Peltier to me fwiw. lol base glass is a bit odd, but if you picture the base as opaque white with those four orange-ish ribbons... looks an awful lot like a Peltier pattern. I've lost track of the citrus combo's but those all are great
  15. That is very very cool...Looks like a lot of fun too! Don't watch too much TV, but will for sure tune in for that episode. Wow!
  16. Some marbles with red & yellow. Mibstified, that's a sweet marble there to me almost looks more like a swirl construction rather than cork (like you'd see on the Akro ade types)
  17. Here's some purply ones. (Nice to also see a couple vintage handmades with purple there, Zaboo)
  18. Best I can do for now Some nice 1's there m!b$
  19. Horse-hair oxblood as far as I know,
  20. Here's a couple more, Nutty. :Sad_headshake_tweetz: bad pistachio joke
  21. Those color chips are too-close-to-call. Most green + black or dark brown could fall under the "pistachio" umbrella, various shades of green + another color too., like darker green?
  22. ...but what are the Popeye purists going to say about "clear" being a "color" of the month? Just joking. Love to see pics of the handmades, wow, some nice ones so far, and yes there's a lot of clear in just about most handmades. Clear-ish lat core Not sure what this was supposed to be, but I like it. Scrambled egg? Nice Contemp from somebody...not sure who. A shooter sparkler I think Another Akro from what I hear Some handmades that Leroy helped out with, very nicely. Happy B-day Leroy, sorry I missed ya
  23. Thanks RAR, tham there indeed Elvis Lives..Uh HUh! or at least the duck
  24. Can't be 100% sure, SRB, but similar colors/same lot as the "elephant trunk pattern" on the bottom, just a hunch that they're both Pelt from what I can tell.
  25. A couple hand mades and a "unknown" machine made, Alley? Champion? Brown doesn't strike me as being "the most popular color" with the kids, but just fine with me.
