  1. Some newer ones, and then some older ones. Most of the older ones are just blue and green since blue/green/purple is kind of tough to find in one marble, but I'm sure there's some more out there.
  2. Independent of blue or black, I've seen some "broken corks" that look like MK's, but I just wondered if it were a blue/yellow Pelt or a black/yellow Pelt. Lol. I don't see a flip flop in the original pic. Marblemiser's far two on the right look more like they could be "broken corks" more than the others (except for Dans). disclaimer: I know less about MK than I think I might know about Pelts, so take it with a grain of salt.
  3. I haven't been disappointed by any of Leroy's work, there are a lot of beat up marbles that can be rejuvenated. Ultimately it's your call. I think there's enough clear glass on that one still that can be enjoyed with all the battle scars, since most of what's going on is close to the surface and not obscured like you'd see if the good stuff was closer to the core like most other handmades from that era. Imagine the kid on the playground tossing that bad-boy around. I've seen a similar one in Red that's worse off, but could likely still be helped if that's your thing. Big John shows an excellent example though, and not too many would disagree that it looks a lot better than it did. Unless you're a purist that likes the history (in which case one could argue that you could effectively take a polished marble and pass it on to a new generation for them to play with on the playground and earn it's battle scars all over again). Marbles are toys and no doubt in my mind that even a polished handmade still has it's uniqueness compared to to any run of the mill (ie: current) marbles getting churned out by machines nowadays.
  4. Pretty long tail for a rhino, but I'm sure there was some artistic freedom when these were made and rhino "A" from one marble shack would look a lot different than rhino "B" from the shack way up the road. I doubt anybody back then would have a clue what a triceratops was or even looked like,
  5. Vivid colors in the pic of four handmades, wow. Nice marbles all around!
  6. Lol, Sue, didn't see your post, sorry. Might as well be shooting ducks in the dark without a pic, but some possibilities shown
  7. I can't be the only one waiting for some pics here...trying to describe a marble can be tough. Does this have a name = Does this have a picture.. soon?
  8. Yet no Akro slags 1"+ size (or were those all MFC)? Yeah, you don't see too many corkscrews fully over an inch, except for some of Alans. I love that popeye every time I see it, if only
  9. By no means have I seen all the handmades out there, but I've found that the "older" handmades are more often round than the "newer" ones. Most times the type you see out of round have unfinished pontils and typically aren't as "fancy" or symmetrical compared to the older ones. It shouldn't affect condition rating but should be noted/mentioned as a trait when describing (say if you were ever going to sell it or something). Some people may or may not find it desirable based on how round it is.
  10. Nice... great pics too JoeStreet. Well defined flames. I'm agreeing with Catfish on the second pic, they're all nice
  11. I'll throw "lobed peppermint swirl" out there. Without the clear glass where the ribbon looks pinched flat, those parts of the core would be closer to the surface. 2 red stripes for every blue stripe on a peppermint swirl is a common combo - and Voila - there you have it. lol Sure is a fat ribbon though (I'm still looking for a "cased clambroth with lobing")
  12. One of the reasons you probably don't see too many "Master" threads is they can be hard to tell apart. Between sparklers and foreign marbles they can look a lot alike. The larger sizes with the orange peely surface you see on some foreign marbles.
  13. A couple more that could be Vitro's. The good part about going through the "could be a Vitro" pile is I found a mib with what looks like blue avent (pretty beat though). Now it's looking more like a pelt.
  14. I skipped most of this enjoying popcorn, still felt the need to post something, because- hey! (looking for my fav popcorn emoticon)
  15. The only one in my pic that might have something close to Ox is not visible in the pic. The rest are kind of a reddish/brown which probably looks different in the pic. For all I know the one in the top left with the yellow tail could be an Akro the more I look at it. Pop Culturs pic shows at least one that looks like a Pelt (the white/blue/red), but most of the rest could be Vitro's with another angle. Oxblood and aqua is a dynamic color combo for sure.
  16. These likely could be Vitro imho. lol ...I hope
  17. Some nice popeye's so far, I can see why - everyone's favorites just happen to be killer. The first one I got, nothing out of the ordinary, a yellow on blue is still my favorite. Probably since it was one of the first machine mades I could identify as a "sort" or "type" of marbles.
  18. Not to laugh at somebody spending $6K on a marble, but I have found some humor in the posts. Yoda lol
  19. nice way of capturing the "shadow" in the last pic ziggy
  20. Some of these probably aren't Alley's, but I think a few of them are
