  1. Hmmmm. Still wish I could see more. This pic is only 62 Kb. The size limit is supposed to be somewhere around 450 kb. Well, okay, let's see. The green one looks like it could be a modern machine-made. (Maybe made in the last 20 years in Mexico.) The middle one could possibly be a a modern one which was made by hand -- if it is glass. For the brownish one on the right I think I see some circular motion which is interesting, but I can't see enough to make a guess. Maybe more views might help. (Also, I better double check to see if this one is glass, as opposed to stone.)
  2. Hello. Welcome. That photo is a little small. The marbles look interesting. A bigger photo could help a lot. p.s. Adding a ruler to the photo could also help so we can see how close to 2 inches.

George has spoiled me soooooo bad. He sent me this 1945 Science and Mechanics, with the Ravenswood article with so much detail in it -- Glass Marbles by the Million, by Bill Random -- and I put the magazine away for "later" before I recognized its significance. Luckily later came today. Here's the text of the article: http://mm.bglances.com/1-06-05-00%20Ravenswood%20Glass%20Novelty%20Works.htm

I hadn't noticed that. Who do we know who did three marbles to a box? That could be Japanese or Alley, right?

California Agates and Picture Marbles still available.
  6. Was looking for a particular ad from 1933 and found this pic from Charles along the way. What do you think the Blood Agate shooters were? http://marbleconnection.com/topic/16542-sell-those-magizines-boys
  7. Hi Jez! Nice to meet you. Would love to see some of your jewelry. ... and of course your marbles.
  8. I wondered if it was two genders of the same species but I was surprised by thinking they could be so very different looking.
  9. Hi John. The two on the left are looking like Master to me. The green and white one looks like it will turn out to be a Peltier. More views of the cutlines would be good.
  10. I don't see it yet. http://www.ebay.com/sch/mattshaw1953/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
  11. I'm going for it. Cover me! http://marbleconnection.com/topic/20437-please-post-examples-of-cac-exotics/
  12. Hopefully this can be mostly a photo thread and not so much a debate thread. Wherever they might have come from, would love to see some examples of exotics.
  13. Fwiw, pretty sure that ad is the older style, Al. 1957.
  14. Colorful! How many different species?
