My last marble game was in 6th grade. My backyard neighbor expressed interest in playing but we didn't follow up. Yet. I'm gathering up marbles that look nice but I wouldn't mind busting up. A challenge!

Way to go! Bet you'll get there earlier next year! But looks like you made your time count. -

Hi. Welcome. You have a modern Marble King. Made around 2000 give or take a few years. -

Sweet cross-throughs. I can't remember who made 8-vane cat's eyes like that so I too want to hear the answer. I have a cat in my lap so I can't yet go look for my cat's eye book.

Not MCR. Not Muddy. The thing I wondered about was Tootsie Roll, but I doubt it's that either.

Yes to pontils! (lol) Looks painted! It's a marble berry, Pollia condensata. Considered the shiniest living thing on earth. 30% as reflective as a mirror. Found in African forests. The shine is not from pigment but from reflective cell structure. Learned about it yesterday on a BBC radio show.

Sadly not me! You really are doing this marble thing right! Enjoy!
