  1. Nice. Can you imagine planning and assembling those? Ann, are you sure you don't want one?
  2. You gave it away! Did you peek or did you know?
  3. Just reading Alan's old Vacor page and it sounds like Vacor may have used "Trébol" for their modern cat's eye's ... whatever it meant in 1944 ... if indeed the history found at the Vacor site was accurate about making Trébols in 1944. Still hoping to find out where the info about Vitro making cats in 1954 came about. Not yet hoping hard enough to write the book authors who gave that date. But thinking about it. That's probably what I should do, eh?
  4. I suppose I should go to a Dollar Tree sometime. I always send my personal shopper for the groceries and he doesn't take many risks.
  5. Quiz time. Guess which are Peltier and which are Carl Fishers. Answer here: http://www.carlfishermarbles.com/
  6. I looked up ESPN ... hoping ... and I did see where Rolley Hole supposedly made it to the bigtime .... at least a mention.
  7. There's a reason I try to stick with the names Akro gave the marbles. But I don't know what name Akro gave the one like Lavincen showed above ... or the somewhat similar one Bill just posted with the blue and translucent green. (That's yummy, Bill!) Interesting to hear that some classify them as snakes. The cork ribbon really pops against those translucent bases.
  8. http://triblive.com/news/allegheny/6300451-74/county-national-division#axzz351hIpfvj Does it get any coverage in any of the news outlets you watch? Does ESPN mention it?
  9. That old one is pretty cool. The others are nice but the old one is especially so.
  10. I didn't see a name for the artist on that page, but perhaps it is Kohei Nawa. More marble animals here: http://www.designswan.com/archives/stunning-glass-art-sculptures-made-of-glass-beads.html
  11. From Marblealan's old site: In the light of day, it doesn't seem as unusual as I thought when I first saw it. I think Alan's name for it made me think it was exotic. By "name" I mean the file name, not a name I noticed him using anywhere else. The file name was "superaven".
  12. Beautiful blue. lol ... not worrying about the date anymore. I didn't realize we'd skipped so many days. *oops*
  13. Yeah, I think a few years ago the going rate was around 600. But less now.
  14. My favorite car in the 80's was a Mercury Cougar. I loved the window design.
  15. I didn't realize it was a Zebra. I was thinking Alley. Even cooler.
