  1. That's a good question! It looks like there might be some clear in there when I look between the orange and the red. Definitely not brown. The transparent glass is mainly red. Thanks.
  2. Thank you Gladys and Ric for the input! Glad to hear that it is a Champion! And thanks for pointing me towards the Hot Wheels/Flame thread Ric!
  3. Love all the history! Thanks for sharing WVRons!
  4. Just wishful thinking... This is probably a Vacor, but I've seen some images online that are sparse on yellow like this marble that were labeled as Hot Wheels so just asking for input. Thank you!
  5. Didn't know Alley had game marbles. Always learning something new.
  6. Yes indeed! I must have given away a bunch of interesting marbles that I thought were just ordinary game marbles, but hopefully someone else noticed them. 🥴😆
  7. I have a green one like that too. Thanks for the input!
  8. I remembered looking for info on polishing old marbles and if I remember right, Leroy's name popped up several times as one of the best people, if not the best, to go to for refinishing marbles. It seemed to have definitely been an art.
  9. Here's another pic that shows the "striping" a little better, but not by much.

    MK?

Hi All, In my quest for a tomato I came upon what looks like a Marble King. It has the "lines" of black between red and a very faint hint of orange here and there. It is opaque and .57". Probably a nicer game marble? Thanks for input!
  11. Just wanted to share my very first handmade that I got in a baggie with some other marbles when I first began collecting. It's out of round with twisty waves, but I did notice the pontils back then which I've seen on handblown glass vases. So it became a special find for me. I've read that mica marbles were made in Germany so I'm just assuming this one was.
  12. Ah! I see it now! Funny, because I was just about to ask about another marble, but as I started to look at my photos, I began to answer my own questions. Now that you have pointed out this photo, I see it now. 🥴 Thanks!
  13. SherryFain, I received some of those clear cat eyes as a freebie a while back, and they are still some of my favorite marbles to look at today. They are keepers for me. So many different kinds of marbles out there. It has value if you like them. 👍
  14. I've never seen one with a blue like yours. Cool.
  15. Always love it when you add your awesome examples. Yes, I found mine in a jar that seemed to have a woodsy color theme going. Thanks again.
  16. Help needed. Is this a Vitro Opal? It has a milky white base that is translucent and seems to have an inner glow. It is .60". Thank you!
  17. Hello Everyone, Just wondering... Is this a Master Sunburst? The size is .57". Thank you!
  18. Just had to agree with your jelly belly comment. Haven't met a jelly bean better than Jelly Belly. My machine doesn't work very well for the beans so maybe I should replace the beans with marbles. 👍

Here's me acting like I know anything. 😂 I read in Robert Block's book that a Nova is about an inch. Also read somewhere that they often have annealing fractures. The one and only Nova that I have looks more blended. But who knows, maybe mine is not a Nova. Thanks for letting me practice my marble ID'ing. I'm no expert. Listen to everyone else. 🤣
