Chad G. replied to jameswymer's topic in Marble I.D.'s

I just seen the discussion on "Blood alleys" as well. Can't remember where either, some nice "Destroyers" you have there Hansel. -
Supposedly 99.9% of all the Indian Blankets & Superman corks were dug, especially the large examples. no direct knowledge but just what I've gathered from people who dug them ?? I know they're both inherent for having fractures in the translucent red color. I think a "so called" Indian blanket has to have opaque black ribbons to be considered an Indian Blanket ?? Here's a couple to look at, only the red is translucent. The base glass appears to be opaque yellow ?? Yours is still an outstanding mib Rick, just wondering do the darker ribbons appear to be black or amber, might just be the light in your pix ?? Another pic of the bigger of the two taken indoors showing the black and red ribbons corking around the yellow base glass.

Chad G. replied to Jeremysvt's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Yes !! they get even bigger, I really like them. Pix of a few of mine, I think the largest is .82" When I got the big one there were many larger ones but they all had heavy damage. -

Seen a lot of different applications for the "clawfoot & marble" i.e. stools, tables, letter openers etc ... in all different sizes, just never thought I'd see a cooking appliance application, just when I thought I'd seen it all !!
