  1. Mmm... Hmm, Yeah Buddy !! Thanks for postin all the Great Pix Ron !!
  2. Yesir !! 100% Akro, nice pair of hands
  3. "Yes" the crow logo on the bottom that shows in your pic as well as mine is Akro. I know it's kinda indistinguishable being so small but if you have a loupe and a good stamp of it on the glass you can almost make out the crows head, the wings for sure. The third one is from my beggars hand showing the same 766 #'s as yours, the 7 and or the 4 maybe the moth or something ?? A few more examples for ya. Some of the Akroware only has numbers and doesn't display the trademark crow logo, so time & experience are your best friends. Here are a few pieces of Imperial slag glass. Slag glass yes, Akro no. Almost every glass manufacturer that ever existed made slag glass at one time or another. I watch the pricing and stamps and buy what I like as long as the price is appropriate and the seller isn't claiming it to be something it's not just to make an extra buck. These are all relatively low value pieces but some Akroware and very early & rare Imperial can be a bit on the pricey side. "IMPERIAL" slag glass not Akro THE STAMP ON THE BOTTOM OF THESE TWO IS THE SAME & INDICATE A MANUFACTURE DATE OF APPROXIMATELY 1951. HERE ARE THE IMPERIAL STAMPS THEY USED.
  4. Sounds good to me Brad a happy medium, who knows I may be getting rid of something myself, or even buying something ?? I was just pullin your leg anyway. I try not to take anything to serious. More than a few asking for this new site so hopefully it works out Ok for everyone !!
  5. Yesir !! marble stand is a definite upgrade from Penn holder All good !!
  6. Nice corner curio William, they're HTF in the hexagonal form like that, ya got a deal on those !!
  7. That means the 4 or 5 year wait for you Brad, ouch !! Maybe 50 would be a bit better ?? Then you have the over zealous like me who has to post on everything, I think I had 100 posts in less than a month !! Time to start crunching #'s to find a happy medium ?? Better get some guards for that geoduck patch Brad Yuuum, Deeeliciouse !! well worth the wait !!
  8. Good one, called a "Beggars Hand" William a toothpick holder, yes with the crow icon on the bottom obviously made by Akro "Nice" I have a similar one except w/ a white base & orange swirls. maybe I have a pic ?? Ah !! found it. I'm looking for a rainbow (multi) colored one like Ron's but like most of the other "good stuff" almost impossible to find them now. Here's the best crow impression I have on the bottom of one of the Med. large Akro Dart vases And the vase itself, the "Darts" are the name they gave the little points running down the side of the vase. They have China cups & creamers etc also w/ the dart pattern. They made so many different ones next to Impossible for me to name them all here. I think this is a creamer also w/ the "Dart" pattern on it, I like the washed out look on this one.
  9. They definitely look like some type of stone, marble, granite whatever. The last 2 grey w/ black spots really resemble granite, though I don't know why or what someone would use it for ?? Do you have a size measurement Joep ?? I agree with Bruce, especially the first one has really been hammered on by something ??
  10. I'll say it again, "Yeah Buddy" Love em !! I agree, very refreshing to see someone else take an interest in these beautiful old German marbles & double !! Also what got my motor running in the first place & still does. Way better variety this time, way to go "Mojo"
  11. A couple mica for you too look at, dim light, bright light & sunlight, the flakes are very definitive and yes, mica is always sliver like Ron said !! These pics are all of the same hand made marbles, both faceted on one end & a small melted pigtail on the other, generally faceting is a sign of older manufacture i.e. (1850 - 1880), and both 1.25 " ( 1 1/4") , 31.5 mm. One thing at a time, there is much to learn when it comes to handmades & as always there are exceptions to the rule, better to kick back & take it slow, so it sticks............many years & I'm still learning............I think this is the "Fun" part............endless !!
  12. I know the bigger Vacor boulders & the toe breakers they make almost all have the "Orange peel" surface. The smaller 14 - 15 mm ( around 5/8ths) have it a much smaller portion of the time.
  13. I'll say all Vacor The swirling pattern looks the same in all three to me, vacor has cuts just like a CAC in some & also some have Pelt traits, I've had a few Vacor I had to take 2 or 3 looks at to make sure they weren't pelts, I believe there was a serpentina that was very close to a Pelt superman, it even had "A" seem but the colors & the rest of the mib where just a little off !! A few looked exactly like pelt Bumble bees they swirled like your marbles, seems on one side & swirls on the other. ALMOST THE EXACT SAME SWIRL PATTERNS IN THE GLASS, THE BUMBLE BEE IS A BIT DIFFERENT BUT STILL A VACOR
  14. Agree with Ric, "not Vitro" Asian Imperials
  15. 1. Latticinio 2. A very tight divided core ?? if a gap anywhere in the white core not a solid core but a tight divided core. Solid means solid. The upper left side view of the core in this pic suggests a slight window into the core making it a divided core. 3. Latticinio 4. Coreless swirl ?? 5. Latticinio Latticinio has to do with the net looking design in the core & is one of the most common handmades True black is one of the rarer colors, so the Latt. with the black & orange outer stripes is probably the best. Highest value you have is the tri stage solid core (Tight divided core) peewee ?? tops ":maybe" $10.00 the rest are about $5.00 to $8.00 each on a "good day" None are EOC (end of cane) None look to be polished Condition looks pretty good, no heavy pocket wear (general wear) only one or 2 visible flea bites, no hits, not polished, no fractures, all together in good shape just common. Still nice shape for you first ones. Pricing is hard, all perspective, as of recently the market for the smaller common handmades has taken a dip, it will "probably" rebound ?? over the years I have seen it go up & down many times. Back and forth, though it does seem to be trending more towards the machine mades as a new generation comes about. if I were you I'd buy what I like & go by the these three basic rules Condition, Condition, Condition. Keep a eye on general sale prices as a whole, time and experience are your best friends.
  16. 1. Peltier 2. Akro slag 3. Akro slag 4. Peltier zebra ?? Agree with Ric, very little to no value due mostly to poor condition
  17. I would have sprung also, a beautiful piece, wish I could translate it ??
  18. Sorry about seeing the black & green I really need to put my glasses on before I start looking at marbles. As Ron said about all "Alleys" some desirable but it looks as if the best have damage. "No Oxblood" & no high value even if they were all mint, just desirable maybe a buck or two each for the red & yellow swirls at best, if they were mint.
  19. "Welcome to Marble Connection Raisin" A great place to be, glad to have you !!
  20. Nice Marbles eggie, I knew ya had some stashed away
  21. Cool, a couple of the larger Blue & White spotted ones I had gifted to me, made by Vacor, I believe they're called Galaxy marbles. I keep them in a prominent place with all gifted marbles, all good memories of good friends, regardless of value they're priceless to me. "Thanks" for the post, some great memories
  22. Pelt MCS with ox, the only type Pelts I've seen it on until now (I think) ?? "Thanks for the pix mibber" a beautiful little marble !!
