I used to have a large collection like that myself, most of which I gradually sold back when I was doing the Ebay thing 15-20 years ago. I recall one that I was very fond of, a purple blob top beer bottle I sold to a man in Louisiana for around $100. It was fun collecting them though!

That's what I'm talking about. Nice group 👍

It's obvious that some of us, at one point during our another, either collected or acquired a cool bottle or two or some other sort of interesting or unique glass vessel. I thought it would be fun too see who has what, how they got it, and if it has a story behind it. I'll kick it off with a 1930's Marble "pop" bottle that I picked up at an antique mall a while back, complete with its own little story 😊

I'm nowhere near a great photographer, only camera I own is a digital 12 year old Samsung. All I have is this Android phone with limited zoom capabilities. But, I had to share this once in a lifetime moment and this seemed like the thread too do it on. We were in the middle yard this afternoon, spending the day getting some outside chores done. We are avid bird watchers and have 3 feeders, 4 different hanging cages for suet, seed cakes, etc., and 2 Hummingbird feeders. All of which are inside the fenced in middle yard. In the Southeast corner we have a 2 pronged Shepherd's hook with a feeder and watering station, which Patty calls the "Cafe". Today, a very large group of Chickadees and Sparrows were there and too our amazement, we saw an "Albino"! Man, one in a million moment indeed! The pics aren't great, but in one when they are on the ground it sure stands out!

Yes sir, love it! Alot of white and caramel in this one. I have my eyes on an opaque green and white honeypot, a chocolate pedestal candy dish, and a chocolate bowl my next stop in there 👍

In Lacrosse, Wisconsin today to pick up some new specs (my pair, the frame broke away from the lense) and stopped at a place I haven't been in for a couple of months. Walked away with this Slag Owl by Imperial Glass, a "twin" too the one I found earlier this year! No mibs too speak of but there are a few more slag pieces I want to pick up next week for sure.

Your best marble display stand ideas
William replied to Chris Parson's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I decided to use my "Jelly Belly" jelly bean machine for marble display too a little while back. They have always been a favorite around here with their 50 original flavors for years. Found mine at an antique mall for only a few bucks. You should try some, Joep! I'm sure you could find them online 😊 -

Terrible. This reminds me of back when I was collecting football cards. I would always visit the Walmart in Decorah, IA too pick up a couple of "blaster boxes", which held anywhere from 4 too 10 packs per box. The higher end cards almost always guaranteed 1 Jersey card, Autographed rookie card, or some other insert. Blaster boxes also had a good reputation for yielding the short printed, hard too pull cards of the top players. When Graded, they go for big bucks. Ever so often, I would find boxes stuffed in the back, having been ripped open and the contents gone. Sad. Walmart stopped carrying the "good stuff".

But then again, are you sure it's your friend? Are you sure they are really cats? Thoughts of that movie, "The Thing", and others might have me a bit paranoid? 🤔
-
Oh boy, tensions are high! Who knows? Maybe they would all get together for a fun, peaceful game of marbles in the middle of the night? 😊

Cruelty free, I think not. It was cruel for the local market to throw you under the bus with this teaser 🤣
