  1. Welcome, Gina! Your in the right place! Great, knowledgeable people here! I joined in March and haven't looked back 😊
  2. I barely had him hooked in the lip, got lucky!
  3. Kind of similar to a marble I posted for ID assist on the 15th. Some were on the fence with mine whether it was Akro, Master, Vitro...had some different twists too it...
  4. Went to Houston, Minnesota, about a 35 minute drive north of here too one of my honey holes fishing today with my brother in law. First hit was a nice pike but when he hit the top of the water for my lure he snapped it and was gone! After that just a whole lotta mediocre catfish, a couple of perch not quite pan size. Did get one nice crappie, let my brother in law take it home. These are all backwaters for the Root and Mississippi rivers, so lots of varieties of fish too catch. Sorry about not holding up the crappie for the pic, my brother in law was busy with a bite and had to be quick 😁
  5. Thinking about placing a couple of 7/8 where the candles go maybe 😊
  6. Yes, I love em'....I have been to the place pictured tons of times, about once every week or two, and never spotted them. Found them in the back of the building, a vendors stall where they were "hidden" in the back of an old sliding glass door cabinet behind some Japanese pitchers. The chocolate pitcher, that was a new add too someone's inventory in the middle of the building, on a bottom shelf where the shadows kinda hid its texture unless you knelt down too look. Kinda couldn't believe I found a 2nd pitcher in such a short time after finding the first one. Both antique malls are about 20 minutes or so away from my house, one in Iowa and the other in Minnesota. The mall pictured above had a really nice Westmoreland slag piece, an eagle candy dish in different shades of purples, creams and white, but it was gone. Was at my budget last week so didn't get it 😣 Fingers crossed my gal snagged it behind my back for my b-day, she's acting kinda weird about it πŸ˜‰
  7. Much better, little more room to add for now 😝
  8. Made the transition between curios, probably lower the stone and agate collection down a level and get brighter bulbs (the bulbs in there are many years old, never used much). Still have a little space to play around with. She still claims a spot for her Occupied Japan pieces though πŸ‘
  9. Couple of bonuses too go with my score today...3 more additions too the my rock farm and a pair of Lido Nabisco baseball figures circa 1950's.
  10. Scored in the wild, happy with anything found out there 😊
  11. Scored at this place, once again Imperial but very happy with it! Hopefully mixing Imperial with Akroware on the same thread doesn't mislead anyone! (Just in case, anyone reading this thread check out the maker marks that Chad has included for reference 😊)
  12. I know right? I usually have a good eye when it comes to trademarks on things I collect. Anchor Hocking Fireking is a good example of constant change over the years. Some shorter runs than others. Granted on some of the Akroware the stamp definition is tough to see so I can understand how it wasn't caught initially.
  13. That would be great if you found some Akroware over there. I think it would be interesting to see some of the storefronts that you visit when treasure hunting!
  14. That's a very interesting point...different time frame/production runs? Hmm...
  15. Funday Friday's mixed cherrypick score...came across a jar of mostly cats eyes with these. Happy with Friday since I struck out Saturday 😊
  16. Couple of older clear based that had some good battles...
  17. Opinions? Thanks. I took a few pics of some individual marbles that stood apart from the rest of the group, 17 of them total. Below are 8 of them. Interesting I thought.
  18. Another interest I was collecting was ocean and fishing related items, especially when I got the green light too convert our smaller bathroom. Spent probably a year picking all this stuff and it was fun putting it up!
  19. Yesterday's scores, mostly hers...2 more of those lacquered figures (2 tallest ones), large amethyst horse, hand carved bear chief statue, Vintage cigarette box, and a slew of vintage lures, a couple of Occupied Japan fishing kits still in the original packaging, I staked a claim to the hand carved samurai but he won't be resided in my displays. It was her day too shine since I owned Funday Friday with my scores 😊
  20. Since we are on the fishing subject, part of my significant others score yesterday was this. Never opened from the original packaging, she got a pair of them. Incredibly tiny hook! Anything Occupied Japan is cool too find since the manufacturing period was only a handful of years, especially the stuff you don't see very often. Goes right into her Vintage lure collection (I'll share pics of her tackle boxes sometime 😊)
  21. All my Akroware and Slag glass thus far, mixed in with the Imperial pieces and animal agate and onyx pieces. Once I move them into the cherrywood curio I will have them separated. Haven't bought a thing online and probably won't for some time. Enjoy the thrill of the hunt way too much! Not a bad start for a couple of months of picking 😊
  22. Very nice grab...I'm following a lead tomorrow on some more pieces...wow that's quite the deal, fantastic one-two punch there Chad!
  23. We hit Cresco (Tin Ceiling Antiques), Calmar (Whistlestop Antiques)and Decorah (The Depot) in Iowa today, a 4 hour jaunt where she scored and I struck out as far as adding to the glass masses but did grab a couple things...Hoping too get some hits tommorow then maybe some fishing for crappie, bluegill and northern 😊 See about posting some pics tomorrow πŸ‘
