An interesting transitional handgathered type
akroorka replied to StevenJustSteven's topic in Marble I.D.'s
I watched your videos a bunch and now I am a bit mesmerizedš¤¢. Look for the striations in the glass and rule out the possibility that the ānine patternā did not come from the glass folding in on itself as the glass dropped from the furnace, was cut off and sent onto the rollers. I think that these are machine made marblesājust my opinion. More opinions are needed. Cool Stuff! MarbleāOn!! -
I am all in with Master Made. Nice one! Of course all opinions are respected and more are requiredš. Marble--On!!

Pistachio x2--Nice group--the others. They really light up! Marble--On!!

Nice collection Alan! Great info as well! marble--On!!

Some nice Akro Corkscrew halves. How deep did the spinner cup spin the glass? Quite deep, according to the examples that I have shown below. I just love this stuff! MarbleāOn!!

Nice ride! I am riding with four cylindersā and twin turbo's. Iāll keep up--- MarbleāOn!!

My first thought was a transitional--I think that Mojo has this one right on. Marble--On!!

Nice marbles! I agree with Al except for the one on the right--it may be a Pelt "Spiderman". I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!! -
Killer images! I agree! Marble--On!!

Here are my two boys, āSluggoā in the foreground and āLuigiā in the background. I had a dream last night that my last cat "Ragnar" climbed out from behind the couch to surprise us all--he was a very good cat and my old boy Luigi still checks the basement ācat-doorā for him. Marble--On!!

I can only imagine you holding on while I drive---ZOOOOOOM!! I just love g-force. Marble--On!!

OK, I will not open itš. What do you think about the size of these? Marble--On!!

A classic for example only. This one shows the "classic signs of a "polished" marble. Notice the fine/sharp edges on the exposed bubbles, the evident exposure of the ācleaned out āHit Markā and the āpontilā that was avoided during the process of ācleaning this one up.. These are all things that in hand are hard to see and avoid during a direct buy, thankfully this seller has given us a direct āeagles eyeā to these things that need to be considered when buying. I really do not blame this seller for posting this marbleāhe/she may not be aware. I am not the āMarble Policemanāāthis is just a great example to share with those who do not know or are willing to spend without a very good look at what they are spending. If anyone ever takes offense to you taking out a lupe and a bright light to look at the marble/marbles that you are considering to purchaseāWalk away. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266661732819?hash=item MarbleāOn!!

I just received this bag of marbles. I have never seen this header beforeāāChallengerā. They are Pelt āBananasā but the funny thing is that measured though the bag, which is quite thick, I figure these to be 9/16ā. Measured through the bag, the ones that I measured are @ 5/8āincluding the plastic. 100 count Pelt Bananasāmaybe the challenge is that they are āsmallerā. I really do not know one way or the other. Just cool imho. ( I want to open themāreally I do) @Al Oregon or @Chad G. or @cheese may have some great input here that I will appreciate. Give me whatever all of you all here on "The Marble Connection" can offer and it will be greatly appreciated. I appreciate all opinions and look forward to them all. MarbleāOn!!

This one is called a "Fire--Eye". Marble--On!!

I think so Fire. These big ones never behave--just do not ask me the "type". Marble--On!!

#3 is an Akro--nice one! Marble--On!!

Nice glow! Marble--On!!
-
Did these come from the USA? Marble--On!!
-
Yes on the "Silver Ox" and what Chad says about the glow. I recently purchased one with faint streaks of āglowā that I think is special. Yours blows it away as far as glow goes. The āMilkyā may be from another makerāit may be an Alley imho. Check your books! Regardless, they are both nice findsāvery nice. More opinions are needed and welcomed. MarbleāOn!!

My first thought on the OP was--Akro "Cornelian??". They are slagās with a base that looks solid but are in truth semi transparent when backlit. They usually do not have very much white involved. Maybe a mix Carowill?. Marble--On!!
-
Nice finds Boris! If you see a little white Mini Cooper with a black roof following you--it is me trying to pick up your leftoversš¤©. Marble--On!!
-
If this is your thing--of course share it. We all love the varied interest of all collectors here on "The Marble Connection". It is cool and these are some great images that you posted as well. Marble--On!!

Here is my favorite to this day. These are found as David Howell Picture frames if you want to attempt one yourself. They are bolted together with very strong glue involved, so take it in the garage and soak it with solvent before any attempts at removing the nuts. They will only fit 9/16" marbles. Marble--On!!
