  1. There is an almost identical box to this one with the Peltier name applied along with the Ottawa Illinois tag rather than New York. The one that you show is quite common, the Pelt one is less so and way more desirable. $25 dollars is all the money here and not worth weathering the storm imho. These were a part of a “Chinese Checkers” game box and were not sold as separates as far as I know— Marble—On!!
  2. Happy Akro Friday! This one is just over an inch, probably dug or “experimental”. Off white (very cool to me at least) and a more regular Akro Agate green are included here. It is in very fine shape though and pretty minty for one out of the ground imho. These larger Corkscrews always get me going, there are not too many to find so I jump on them when I get a chance. Marble—On!!
  3. The white mixed in with the green in image one makes me fall away from Akro for an ID. I do not think that I would sort it as a "Coral". I am with Cheese. They do not all have names but this one is very nice imho. Marble--On!!
  4. Nice marble! Nice deep white! Could it be batch glass vs cullet? I have noticed in my backlighting experiences that even the transparent colors will show "Feathering". I cannot explain it but it is there for any that want to know and experiment. Not all have it, just a few imho. I just love a Pelt Red Slag! Marble—On!!
  5. Now you are done for Chuck G😁! I am sure that another one exists somewere but no worry on the name catching on. This may be just one of those that were made in-between runs. The marble machines were running and even though a style change was ordered by the boss, the machines kept running. The glass changed color and the marbles kept rolling and some of these were missed by quality control. It is a cool Rainbo for sure—maybe more? Christmas Tree? Not even a weak one imho. This type of marble, the weird and unexplainable gets my juices flowing, I just love this stuff!! I hope to see some more opinions. Marble—On!!
  6. Me too Ric, this is why this bunch came home. They do not glow but they sure are different--and, I have a good row of them😁. Here is another image of them. I have not seen this type before. The glass reminds me of some lamp parts that I have seen--I wonder? Marble--On!!
  7. Can you blame me for purchasing the marbles in the first image—about $30, I do get lucky-but only because of the years of research that I have done. The next image shows what was sent as a bonus. Who does not like a bonus? This marble is crackeled but it is wet-mint on the surface. Is this a marble that someone decided to”Crackle” or just a very weird Pelt? I see two av colors here, blue and white. Is it a “Tiger”, a “Wiger” or a “Wasp”? I just love this stuff--- Marble—On!!
  8. If you do not mind--I will steal this image and make a t-shirt with it? If you want one I will order two. I think that we are the same size--big! Marble--On!!
  9. This is a very nice "Liberty" the "drizzle" makes it special for sure. This one is a tuff call-- I think that it is a CAC--slag. I would call it a four color--do not doubt that my eyes went right there. More images are needed here for sure--I just love it. Marble--On!!
  10. Excellent Ric! Marble—On!!
  11. Very nice find boris64--very nice. I would like to see some more of the one on the very right hand and the one second from the left. Nice for sure! Marble--On!!
  12. Funny thing Ric, I just spent the last 45 minutes tring to figure out Brians link here--I started a new folder. Is that "sparkle in the gold? As far as @akronmarbles goes--make some more marbles Brian and post here when you do. I love -em and many here do. Great find Ric!! Marble--On!!
  13. I am sorry to hear that you are giving your collection up Sherryfain. This might be the way for you and I respect that. If you are willing to give up about 30%, there are many sellers out there that will "Take a look". You can alway test the waters on e-bay with a group here or there. You have been a bright light here one "TheMarbleConnection" and I would hate to see the end of your passion for these great little orbs. Consider selling your furniture instead--lol, like I would--or your Husband or dog. I wish you well-- Marble--On!!
  14. Welcome to the club boris64. That is a great group and what I was looking for is right. Look for facets --or flat spots on the agate. The Brick appears to be an Akro imho. The rest are just killer and I will leave them up for opinions for now. What a great find! Marble--On!!
  15. Fire and Steph have it right imho. Have I ever said Fire and Steph before in the same sentence? Oh well, show more images of the left one and I am sure that it will show up as an Akro Agate patch The others are very cool Vitro and @Ric has to step in for a final evaluation on them, he is the Vitro go to imho Marble—On!!
  16. I might just name my next dog "Jaspers". Marble--On!!
  17. Red slags are the tops for me-----except for the very best slag ever made imho- The CAC Electric Yellow! Marble--On!!
  18. Was sold , or was purchased? You do not have to wait for an ID. Show us what you have in mind--we are not shy here. The colors do not line up with CAC imho Post here before you buy--or sell for that matter. If we cannot ID a marble here, well--no-one can imho. It is a very nice looking marble, rare in coloration. I am seeing a deep red on an almost purplish/blue base glass. It is a very nice looking marble. It may be an Alley, more opinions are needed and all are respected. Marble--On!!
  19. Ric knows these clays better than I do--go with his ID for sure. Marble--On!!
  20. Wow—nice group, they all appear to be in very good shape. The first image, the top one is an “Agate”, or stone marble imho. More images are needed of this one. I am pretty sure that you have a “Brick” mixed into this bunch, the red and white more solid than the others. The “pin pontil” that you show is actually a “blow out” made during production—a bubble in the glass that exploded out-words and became part of the marble—a factory defect, not aftermarket damage. I hope that this helps, you have some great slag’s here and they may have to be broken down into threes or fours with proper images of all sides to get a good ID. I for one am looking forward to it. Marble—On!!
  21. Well, blue, green and white I would call tri-colors--not an easy find in my world. Bennies imho. Nice find! Marble--On!!
  22. Wow Ric, I thought that I had some cool "Corals". This one is just off the charts---Verrrryyyy cooool!! Thanks for sharing it! Marble--On!!
  23. I have posted a few images below. Vacor "Earth” is correct, from 2015 earlier or later. Mega had a few different package designs that these sets came in. Vacor via Mega put these sets out. “Oceans of the World and “Solar System”, there may be a few more that I am not aware of. If your “Earth” came from one of these sets it should measure in @ 5/8”. The set that I show is marked 2015 it was beat up so I opened it for further investigation. The “Earth” marble will show blue and green speckles on what appears to be a semi transparent base—a very pretty marble indeed. The “Earth” marble was made with the same methods as the Vacor “Galaxy” and yours may have been one that came out of a net of “Galaxies”, some of these were named and some were not, yours is an “Earth” Marble—On!!
  24. I will agree with Champion just because of the crossover between them and Jabo. They do look like Jabo but they also look like Champion from the later years. I do not see the hit marks on my PC and this is my lean--Champion, for that reason. They are not worth a whole bunch of money--that can be agreed one for one thing. It is a good topic for discussion however. Marble--On!!
