  1. Congrats to the winners - and special thanks to Lou for doing this!
  2. Not exactly "large" (they are 15/16" dia.) - but I got these from Roger Hardy at the New Philly show earlier this month. They came from an Akro employee's basement. Eye candy in any case. (Unfortunately, I have chosen to remove this content due to unchecked behaviors by others on this board. Moderators may choose to humor it, but I will not. I don't need to be abused by a Board member while a Mod stands idly by, watching. My apologies to those who will not benefit from it in the future.)

Comes in at about 3.2" This one is around 2.75":

  5. Roger: Good post. Do you mind if I keep the pics for reference? Alan

  9. I think it is a Matthews Reverse Twist...around 3.25" dia. This Lundberg "Starry, Starry Night" is around 3.2": (Unfortunately, I have chosen to remove this content due to unchecked behaviors by others on this board. I have a Ro Purser "Dino Ball" > 3" dia. IIRC - Mark Matthews produces a few pieces approaching 5". The Besset piece Photo is just over 3".

  15. Wow.... a sad day indeed. Unfortunately we are seeing a piece of rich American history passing away.

Steph: Just a brief note that I have been reading end enjoying your posts.
  17. Bob: I was at New Philly this past weekend and I had the opportunity to see all of the Jabo runs in significant quantity. As I have not been involved in any of the runs it was a first chance to see the consistency AND diversity within the runs - and the differences between runs. I have read some of the controversy that has graced some boards on this topic and I have no interest in opening that door. The amount of diversity within one run is interesting (to me) and it makes me wonder how easy or hard it will be to identify pieces by run years in the future. I think this may be especially so once more Jabo runs have been produced (I hear that 3 more runs may be planned). A photo guide would be helpful and I have recently discussed this privately with a few people.
  18. I have been at the New Philly marble show. There is no "fear" or uncertainty about the board. If people would behave with an ounce of self-control there wouldn't be any banned posters. I never see anyone at a marble show spouting off like some do on the boards. The anonymity and implied lack of consequences that comes with Internet posting causes some people to write things that they would never say in person.
  19. Some very, very cool marble collection chests with stacking sectioned inserts: Enjoy the photos! Alan
  20. ...and even more boxes: Eddie Seese:
