  1. I've found several mesh MK bags with Pelts in them including the MK Sunshine - Rippled Wheat mesh bags. Also I've found some MK cat's-eye bags with Peltier banana cat's in them. And, of course, we find MK's in some of the Peltiers bags (ones with printing on the bags). So, I'm sure they swapped back and forth.
  2. By the way, I knew it was Lee's (before the Me link) because when I went to save the picture, the 'name' of the picture included 'nonobaddog', which is Lee's eBay ID.
  3. No reason why they couldn't. Lee finds some nice stuff in his travels around the country.
  4. Pretty - almost has a popeye look to it. Haven't seen one like that before.
  5. American Machine Marbles book states that John Early developed the 'adapter' (spiiner cup) between 1928 and 1930 - that would be for the corks so the time frame fits.
  6. Good find - PlanB's on the money with the comments.
  7. Beautiful marbles - many that people never get a chance to see! Thanks!
  8. From the one view, it looks like a WV (West Virginia) type swirl - maybe from Champion Agate Co.
  9. 18 years ago! Do you still have it or is that what is funding your current retirement...?
  10. That is sad to hear. I know Mary Jane Wilson had met with Mike Johnson in helping with the books and Mike had mentioned to me how great she was. It is good that their stories and information were shared and can go into the marble history of the area.
  11. Thanks for sharing those great pics!! Now, what is the ID of the marble in the 4th pic, 2nd post.....LOL!
  12. When I first started collecting, Jane was on one of the marble sites and she sent me some of those marbles for my collection. I tried to contact her a couple years later just to see if she was still collecting but couldn't locate her. I notice her website was last updated in 1998.
  13. I have wondered about this one. I have had some experts tell me it is an onionskin but it sure looks like a Josephs Coat to me. However, I don't collect them - just have some for examples. Can you tell from the pics which type this is?
  14. Same here - I didn't notice size...
  15. I agree with Champion but not a furnace marble.
  16. Neat item - thanks for sharing!
  17. Great thread! I probably got my first groups of Ravenmswood from the same sources as you - mine about 8 years ago.
  18. Don (poplarhead) has a huge collection. He's posted some pictures in the past. I found some individual ones (pics) that I had saved - some in boxes, etc. Here's pics
  19. I have not seen any Peltier 'Champion' bags that have more than 40 marbles. There are some drawstring Peltier bags that have cat's-eyes that have more and some of the 'printed on' bags that have 60 opaques (probably to compete with Chinese Checkers game marble makers).
  20. Nice 'parakeets' - not big enough for Parrots and pretty Black Eye Pea.
  21. Here's the only Acme Realer Box pic that Ihave

    Tgif!

Won't be able to make it to the get-together but here's a few of my multitwist corks.
  23. Just placed my order for a 'real' book. Thanks for letting us know it was out.
