  1. When I first started collecting, Jane was on one of the marble sites and she sent me some of those marbles for my collection. I tried to contact her a couple years later just to see if she was still collecting but couldn't locate her. I notice her website was last updated in 1998.
  2. I have wondered about this one. I have had some experts tell me it is an onionskin but it sure looks like a Josephs Coat to me. However, I don't collect them - just have some for examples. Can you tell from the pics which type this is?
  3. Same here - I didn't notice size...
  4. I agree with Champion but not a furnace marble.
  5. Neat item - thanks for sharing!
  6. Great thread! I probably got my first groups of Ravenmswood from the same sources as you - mine about 8 years ago.
  7. Don (poplarhead) has a huge collection. He's posted some pictures in the past. I found some individual ones (pics) that I had saved - some in boxes, etc. Here's pics
  8. I have not seen any Peltier 'Champion' bags that have more than 40 marbles. There are some drawstring Peltier bags that have cat's-eyes that have more and some of the 'printed on' bags that have 60 opaques (probably to compete with Chinese Checkers game marble makers).
  9. Nice 'parakeets' - not big enough for Parrots and pretty Black Eye Pea.
  10. Here's the only Acme Realer Box pic that Ihave

    Tgif!

Won't be able to make it to the get-together but here's a few of my multitwist corks.
  12. Just placed my order for a 'real' book. Thanks for letting us know it was out.
  13. First, to clarify, I do have a lot of the bags of the marble types in the list Wayne mentioned above but most are the 24+1 type. I don't collect the shooter types (25mm - 1 inch) that Wayne is looking for except in the bags. To answer Sue's question, for a while (early 90's) Qualatex (Pioneer Balloon Co. in Wichita, KS) was the US distributor for Vacor. They got out of the business in mid 90's and sold(?) the Mega distributorship to Mega (also based in Wichita). Mega has continued until the present. Here's a pic of Qualatex bag (Glitter) and early Mega bag (Jupiter) - only difference is the logo in the upper left corner of the header (so, if someone has Qualatex bags they'd like to sell - let me know).
  14. Not all uploaded (and out of order) - hee's missing one (I think)
  15. I was just showing some different style box covers, not the contents (unless they were in the picture). Here's some coves with contents in next pic (if they come out in order? - I noticed in the last post the pics didn't show in the same order I uploaded them?). First one is Les's Master Meteor Box of 100; then Box #0 of 100 Clearies; then box of Comets (100); the one called a Dealers Box No. 0 of 100 Clearies; and last another of Les's, a No. 1 Meteor Box.
  16. Here's some packaging pics from my collection. You can see some of the Master 'bananas' in some plus a variety in the mesh bags.
  17. John - I don't have these boxes. They are just pics that I have saved over the years. Here's some of the pics
  18. I don't have those type of boxes but have a couple pics of opals, clearies and meteor boxes with similar patterns. The logo in the middle of the box top sometimes has a different color. The opal box has OPALS stenciled on it. Doesn't have side views. Les had Meteor box pic and although it's at an odd angle, the word Meteor does look raised like the one you show. Your theory sounds reasonable. I would guess they used existing packaging for all marbles. I haven't looked at all my other Master box pics but, if I remember right, thee was a lot of stenciling of names on boxes.
  19. Gropper also had National Prima, National Toy, National Rainbo and National Onyx boxes - all different styles of boxes using the name National.
  20. On the Japanese 6 vane types, I couldn't find a common 3v pairs type but the first is the white crossthrough and the other is the 3 way cross through. Obviously they come in various colors.

    Vitro Names?

If you really want to be confused about Tiger Eyes, look at this bag - not mine (I think it's Chuck & Diane's) - but it has Whities in it!
  23. On the 6 vane question, there are cat's-eyes that have 6 vanes - some (the common ones) are in 'pairs' as you go around the marble - like 2 blue, 2 red and 2 yellow. The cross-thru types have 6 vanes but the color goes through the center so there is a blue on one side and a blue on the other (connected through the center, of course). Going around the marble (like I mentioned above), in stead of pairs you would see 1 blue, 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue, 1 red and 1 yellow. Hope that doesn't confuse you - tried to make it thorough.
