  1. Neat item - good background for those type of bags. Unfortunately, Champion bags have not had any real value since I started collecting a little over 11 years ago. There were just too many filled bags from the Champion 'warehouse sale' where someone bought empty bags, headers(Champion, Nationwide & Milton Bradley) and marbles and filled them. Then, when the Champion marbles ran out, they started using MK's and whatever other marbles they could cheaply get to fill the bags.
  2. Just to clarify. Kevin mentioned Akro moving to WV or something like that in post #7. It seemed like maybe he was wondering why I did not mention Akro in my post about the other WV marble companies that did not make swirls. I did not mention Akro because, as I stated in the post Steve quoted above, because Steve HAD mentioned Akro in his post. Here's what Steve aaid in Post #2 - 'Also, people have perhaps jokingly included certain Akros in that category. They weren't primarily a swirl company but were in WV and did make some swirls.' Steve wasn't saying they were swirls but he was indicating that Akro was in WV. Kind of a wasted post but I didn't want Steve to think I was 'going after him' for some reason. This is a good thread for newbies and some of us oldies. It's always good to know the vast number of marble companies inthat neck of the woods.
  3. First, on my previous comment, Akro was mentioned in Steve's initial post. Second, the Vitro 'swirls' were not like the regular WV swirls we are all trying to ID. They were more like a patch sorta swirled into the clear. Here's a pic that William took of Ron Shepherd display at New Philly back in 2006 (I think) with Davis on the left and Jackson on the right. Also a couple of other pics that Rory had posted osme time back. Really hard to ID these.
  4. Here are some other Jabo cork pics. The red/orange & blue type seem to be the most common. Pics are Mahlon's, Mike W. and ?
  5. I didn't see Vitro mentioned in there and some of their marbles might also be considerd swirl patterns. I'd say espeically the ones just before they moved to Anacortes but...? Also, for newbies wondering about all of the various West Virginia marbles companies, the ones that are not in the 'swirl' list but are from WV are Marble King, Master Glass and Master Marble.
  6. I've seen very few pictures of black crossthrough cat's-eyes. I have attached two of Patry's pics and one of Dave's (gretchka) from back in 2005 or so. You see some black vane cat's-eyes of various types but rarely the crossthrough types. The value is going to be what someone wants to pay for it. I'd be surpised if you haven't already received an offer or two.
  7. Here's a picture that Patry had posted in Jan 2000 and again in July 2007 of her Vitro Lucky 7 and Lucky 6. The other pic is one that Jill (MK Queen) called her MK Lucky 7.
  8. And here is one of Craig's pictures from last year - great bunch
  9. Here's a picture of the Vacor/Mega Spaghetti (aka Streamers) marbles from the emarbles website, many of which fit the wirepull definition of swirling within the marble but not touching itself.
  10. Congratulations, Ron! Now you'll have more time to work on your house, your son's house and dig, dig, dig... Yup, and maybe you can travel a little - like out west.
  11. Hope you have a wonderful day! Take a break from listing marbles and relax!
  12. Thanks, Greg, for taking the time to post all those pictures. Great items!
  13. Oh boy, off to the races! Glad you got wheels now, Weldon! Enjoy!
  14. David, you have to remember that you are a "newbie" to the marble boards, the Internet and the various "things" that have been worked out over the years when it comes to giving opinions on the identification of marbles online. If someone posts a picture and "Joe" says Akro. If he is wrong, or someone thinks he is wrong, the responses are usually negative as if someone knows "for sure" that the ID is correct. Sure, the "negative" responders are not nice and shouldn't respond that way, etc., but they do. And, therefore, those of us, in many cases, started using the IMHO (or similar verbiage like Edna does) to offset the negative responses ahead of time. That is why many posters use the IMHO. Therefore, David, instead of trying to change the world of online posting "procedures", accept what they do and why they do it and go with the flow. That's life!
  15. I emailed Kelly and she said she said she knew of nothing unusual with the marble. Both bidders were knowledgable and had bought from her before.
  16. Better pics but I'm still in a quandary. Now I might even lean towards a Vitro Cosmic Rainbow type marble. Neat one!
  17. The box in the 2nd pic is probably the valuable item there.
  18. Could be Vacor or wierd Vitro horseshoe style cat's-eye or even a contmep - hard to tell from pics.
  19. Yup, newer MK 'rainbows'
  20. Here's a pic (maybe Bo's?) of Master Marble fake and real box comparison.
  21. Here's a picture of the bag they did for the first run.
  22. Have a great day, Leroy! Keep up the marble mending...
