  2. He is losing ground - up (or down) to 100 now. Let's get voting again. I'm able to vote several times a day - the 8 hours doesn't seem to matter.
  3. Sounds like a nice visit - cool marbles!
  4. The first pic is one of Patry's from October 2002. The other is one Dani (zaboo) did last year.
  5. Yup, it'll be fun to see some marbles and marble people...arriving Wednesday also.
  6. I agree with Alan - not the place. All that will happen is more people will leave this board also. Pretty soon there will be no board where marble collectors or those with some interest in marbles will have a comfortable place to chat, learn and enjoy marbles. Please, no more about SP.
  7. Of course Stan could be mistaken but on Pg 64 of the Sulphide book by Stan Block and M. Edward Payne, it says porcupine.
  8. Not sure on the Peerless whether it is or a Vitro. Red & green is newer MK watermelon; the ? might be Cairo (or Alley); helmet is right; other white with 2 stripes is a ? for newer or Vitro - lean ot Vitro.
  9. There do not appear to be any high end marbles there - maybe 5 cents to a buck at most so...
  10. Here's my pics of Chinko ... Box by Peltier
  11. Great pics and story, Griff - thanks for sharing with us!

  13. And here's another picture I have. I believe they are real - have seen a handful on eBay over the years.

    Comics & Ppps

Greenberg's Guide has a pretty extensive section on the comic marbles, how they were made ,etc. and it looks like 1933 tiime frame - but I'm sure you knew that.
  15. Here are some pics I had saved of various Ringer boxes for comparison. First pic was zaboo's (from 2003); last one was saved in 1999
  16. Had not heard of the Wayback Machine - now to figure out how to use it.
  17. American Machine Made Marbles, Sulphide Marbles (Stanley Block), Greenburg's Guide.
  18. Here's the picture of Pete's CA Pastels box from years ago - best picture I have.
