  1. I'll be there on Wednesday - still trying to figure out what to bring. Not much room i nthe carry-on and I don't trust checking marbles in luggage.
  2. From what I know, they come in a variety of sizes. Made by Vitro, here are some pics (not mine). Also, there are black-eyed peas also. Last pic is Patry's showing both.
  3. Are they actually holes or are they bubbles on the vane?
  4. I set up a special credit card (my choice of which one - mimimal limit, no annual fees, etc.) just for Paypal. I then pay through the credit card (you have to click on more payment options or it'll automatically take it out of your bank account). Then each month, I just pay the credit card bill in full. It doesn't cost me anything, either with Paypal or the credit card company. Of course, if you sell on eBay and have a balance in yoru Paypal account, they take the money out of there first.
  5. Or, on your Windows XP desktop, you can right click, then click graphic properties and then settings to see the setup
  6. Here's praying for a quick and full recovery.
  7. Stan Block's Sulphide book is a good source on comparable values. He shows that particular one on Page 109. It does not fall under the 'unusual' category so has no 'times' factor. Over 2 inches - near mint would be in $400 + range. Off center has a 20 to 40% deduction. That's all from the book - nothing from me personally.
  8. Here's a box picture comparison to the Rosenthal Box - different company (or maybe they did for Rosenthal, too).
  9. I've always favored my split cork with Indian Blanket colors and the gray blue with transparent orange.
  10. Thanks, Alan! That took a lot of time - great pics!
  11. Just a little add-on - this was posted on Pete's Board back in August 2004: California Marble Company produced cut and polished agate marbles. They were made from native stone. The company was in Huntington California and produced marbles in the mid to late 1920's. I hope this helps. Rory Martin - coolspec4u
  12. Neat ones - the variants are great - of course, your fine pics make almost any marble look great!
  13. There's a few orange ones in part of my cork multitwist box plus one of my favorite corks and an early Jim King handmade.
  14. It obviously is a CA Box with an Albright label printed on it. Whether they just bought original CA boxes and put their label on them or filled them themselves...? Here's a CA box of that style.
  15. So sad to hear. Our prayers are with you Ron & family.
  16. Thanks for taking the time to share those -very nice!
  17. Question - Edna mentions March 2007 and Steve says March 2008 - which is correct?
  18. It's been a long time (well over a year) since I had anything for sale on eBay (if it was eBay that you were referring to). By the way, don't mix me up with Rich who is 'Marbles from Oregon' on eBay.
  19. More great items - need to learn your techniques to find these unsuual items. Thanks for sharing!
  20. What's the old saying? 'One man's junk is another man's treasure'!!
  21. The foreign cat's-eyes by Vacor get up to the 50mm range, which is well over an inch.
