  1. Unfortunately everybody will think it is one if you put it on eBay. By the way, what is it?
  2. Time flies when we're having fun so maybe Steve's 'three years or so' is 4 to 5 years. The thread Galen posted was 4 years ago+ and they were mentioning not only 'crows' but 'kingfishers'.
  3. Here's wvmarbles' pic from last April and Patry's 'Crow's Nest' (from 2007)
  4. That's great work you do! I'd be bringing every one home with me if I did volunteer work there.
  5. Have a great day - heading for half a century but you still got a couple years to go...
  6. Good show - too bad they didn't get more pics of the 'classic' (Eagles?) marbles but they hadn't cooled yet so.........
  7. Jo mentions 'Wednesday' Dec 8th. It airs Tuesday, Dec. 8th - that's tonight. It may repeat early am on Wednesday the 9th.
  8. Beautiful marble - colors do look a little European though.
  9. Happy belated birthday - was out of town yesterday!
  10. I agree with duffy on value. I'm curious, what shipping date was there on the box and where was it shipped from? It'd be good information for those if us tracking actual dates of any type. Thanks in advance.
  11. That Bogard bag may be a fake/fantasy type. It's just like the ones the guy from Florida did in the mid-90's (53 various type fake/fantasy bags). I'm not aware of Bogard making those type of cat's-eyes nor do I think they filled their bags with anyone else's marbles liek that.
  12. Good examples of the basic Japanese 6-vane, 3 color 'v' cat's - good pics, too!
  13. The Gropper boxes (jobber style like this) that I have seen are all 5X5 or some are 4X10 - never seen any with 4X6. As Steph mentioned there is at least one eBay seller that is good at faking old & worn looking labels and boxes.
  14. Congrats! You'll find that duffy's comment is true. If I had to find work(been retired 11 years+), I couldn't find time to do work now. Can barely find time to go on vacation....
  15. Oops, happy belated birthday and hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving!
  16. I agree with Ric - the Champion Bicentennial bags were filled using marbles from as many WV companies as they could get marbles from. By the way, the Bicentennial bags were also filled later on with 'other' marbles. I have one with red, white & blue marbles and have seen others that did not have the variety from the original bags. While I don't recall hearing or reading it, it would not surprise me if the 'filled' bags that I mentioned in a previous post also included the Bicentennial bags.
  17. Yeah, they might be Champion marbles (kind of look like they are) and a Champion header and bag but there is a highly likely that those were 'filled' bags. Champion had a sale at one time and somebody got Champion marbles, empty polybags and Champion headers (labels). They then proceeded to fill and staple the bags together (everything original to Champion except the staples). They ran out of marbles before they ran out of bags and headers so they put other marbles in the bags. Also, I "think" (can't find the flyer copy) that there were a couple fake Champion bags in the group of 53 fake/fantasy bags made by the guy out of Florida in the mid 90's. Nationwide Insurance and Milton Bradley were also some of the header from the Champion factory that were filled, too. I posted some pics of the filled Champion bags (or may have been the fake ones out of Florida, too, since he used MK's a lot).
  18. To answer Dn's question, it is an Alley marble - not sure who coined the name but here is a display of Ron Shepherd's at the recent Texas Show (the word ALLEY is all tater bugs) and a close-up of three I got from him some time back (three marbles - three views).
  19. No one from that city in my marble people database.
